it is great that people are getting involved with IDP but you really need to look at the league you are in if players like Osi can be dropped into the WW

well before you jump to conclusions, let me clear the air. I dont know JACK about IDP. I actually came into the this forum at the beginning of pre-season to ask what's the best way learn how IDPs affect a football game, and a FF game.

I figured the best way to learn was to jump into a league with IDP. I found a yahoo league (not a public league, just a league that needed an extra owner) that starts 9 IDPs. I used the huddle rankings and basically grabbed just a few players in the draft (Osi, being one of them, simply because I knew his name) and after the draft, I dropped some extra RBs and WRs that I grabbed to free the roster spots for my missing IDPs and used the rankings to grab the best avail options from the Free Agency pool.

I did notice that alot of the top rankers were still available, so perhaps the league I'm in doesn't know that much about them either. They are very competitive in the offensive side, however. It's a nice league, but i only joined to learn about IDP and to give me something even more to watch on game days.

So i merely ask, not becaues I'm worried about whether Osi will be a bust, but because I truly have no idea if I even should have grabbed him. Obviously the rankings said yes, but I really don't know why. That's why I'm asking.

edit: also, I have no IDPs on my bench. i'm only using roster spots on offensive players. I figured I would just drop someone on their bye week and grab the next best player in FA...I figured that would be a good way to learn. But If i came across a stud, I would obviously just drop someone else to clear a roster spot to get his replacement.

I am sorry if that came across wrong but after reading many posts here and other places with what seems to be insane players avail on the WW you get a bit frustrated....with that said what I meant was if you are delving into IDP that is great but if top5 and top10 type guys are avail on your waiver wire then your competition isnt very good...from that you should take that its not a real good atmosphere to learn in, get your feet wet in yes, learn and improve in no

if you have any questions this yr because you are learning you should continue to ask, but in the future if you want a more competitive IDP league(doesnt matter how well they know Offense) you should really assess your leauge from the type of players that were avail via waivers and such

no no..you didn't come off wrong at all man. I didn't want you to jump to the conclusion that I knew what I was doing is what i meant. I wanted to clear the air, take my lumps, and admit that I'm newbie beyotch at IDP. That's all.

I guess I'll go grab him off the W :D
