crispirons
do you think LT/Turner might evolve into something like priest and l.j.?? i know he's getting alot of garbage time pts right now, so i'm not overly optimistic. but, i am thinking later in the yr turner might get more playing time to keep LT from being overworked. he looks pretty damn good in there and he outscored a ton of rb's today. am i living in dreamland?? your thoughts? Roo
I'd still only own him if you own LT. I don't imagine SD will be winning by 33 pts many more times this season. He's certainly capable, but they won't use him to that degree aoften, nor will he break many more 73 yard runs - in my opinion anyhow. Brentastic
Turner will only have a fantasy impact if the Bolts are up by 20+. Unfortunately, that won't happen too often this year. They had the benefit of playing 2 of the worst defensive teams in the NFL back to back. Everyone who scrambles to get Turner will be disappointed I think. They won't blow out many teams this year like they did the past two weeks.
H8tank
This same thing happened last year, nothing new. What teams leave thier star players in when they are up 24 points? zero.

crispirons
like i said, i'm not overly optimistic, just something i could see happening. lets face it, rivers isn't going to ever throw more than 30 times a game. that means they probably will run.......say what.......35-45 times a game. that should still leave turner with 5-10 looks with an upside of more. something to think about i think, especially later in the yr. bluedog
who was LT2's back up last year or the year before? Wasn't he supposed to be the next big thing? Is he even still in the league? Edited September 18, 2006 by bluedog

piratesownninjas
This same thing happened last year, nothing new. Turner has played a lot more than last year. He'll get a hell of a lot more than 57 touches this year, thus it is something new. who was LT2's back up last year or the year before? Wasn't he supposed to be the next big thing? Is he even still in the league? The Burner is entering his third year. If you're in a dynasty league, I would keep him. He becomes a RFA at the end of the season, so the bolts will have to pony up some money if they want to keep him.
MikesMarauders
Jesse Chatman? And no. Nope it was Turner in 05 Edited September 18, 2006 by MikesMarauders
Scorcher
who was LT2's back up last year or the year before? Wasn't he supposed to be the next big thing? Is he even still in the league? Michael Turner. I have him and am looking for him to be a keeper. He will be available for a trade next year and the Chargers will be able to trade big for him ! I went with the EOS and grabbed Benson and T Jones and Turner has outscored them so far, this week combined! I think with the way SD is developing Rivers the running game will be big with enough for 2. I've already had an inquiry about Turner while no one cares about Jones and Benson! joethin
I can tell you one thing. It is extremely annoying (as a Ladanian owner) to see the Charges go up by a ton early with LT2 having a great game and then see comic book writer sounds like name (michael turner) come and get a bunch of points and lose the first 2 games of the season by 7 & 6 points, respectively. It just 8-p~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ me off. I don't think that will happen against the Ravens & Steelers in weeks 4 & 5. But I can see that same $&!t happening against the 49ers, Chiefs, Browns, Raiders, Bills, Broncos, and Cardinals... so yes, I believe it might turn into a Priest/Larry kind of a deal. Giants56
Almost played him today because I saw this happening but, yeah, I doubt the Chargers are going to have many more cakewalks like the first 2 weeks.

Giants56
You almost played him today, you thought about benching him? Wait, are we talking MVP challenge here? No, I meant Turner - don't have LT. Low depth at RB with Portis out - should have played him instead of Lundy. Would never bench LT if I was lucky enough to have gotten him (which I wasn't)

Him taking a break will allow him to perform at a high level all year long, unlike the past few years where he's fallen off around week 14 because of a heavy workload. LooGie
PPR League. Had to go with LT2 against the Curse & the broken OL. BIG ASS FAT +1. i wasn't going near the other two if LT2 was still on the board.

Randall
LT hasn't been hurt. LJ was drafted because they were worried about Priest's hip injury. I don't see a similarity, but would pick up Turner if you have bench space.
The Wolf
LT hasn't been hurt. Really? He's never gotten dinged to the point where he played but wasn't the same? Didn't he finish last season on a no-TD streak because he was hurt? He has not gotten the catastrophic season ending injury like some backs have had, but he definitely gets hurt. I think that spelling him with Turner makes sense for the team...they could care less about us FFers.
