Just Won / Just Lost

I went into tonight up by 28 points going only against the J'ville defense.

It would take a shutout with less than 200 yards given up witha sack and maybe 2 picks to beat me. Wait! That is what happened!

It was tied 140-140 with me having the tie breaker until that last pick.

I love this game!

Well, it looks like Fred Taylor is going to beat Heath Miller and Hines Ward, thus making it two weeks in a row that im getting beat on freaking monday night football...

I won my game, but it was TOO CLOSE. As the game started, I was up 14pts. with Roethlisberger and the PITT DEF yet to play. My opponent had Miller (TE) and Reed (K) playing.

The final score was 80-73. In spite of the fact that my opponent managed only 1.1 points (Miller's 11 yard reception), he actually gained seven points on me due to Roethlisberger's poor showing (120+ yards, 2 INTs). If Jacksonville would have run that last INT into the end zone, things would have gotten REALLY interesting, as my DEF would have lost another three points.

Needless to say, I was pretty much pulling my hair out for most of the second half... and in a game that I should have won EASILY given the lead that I had going into it, and the players that both me and my opponent had playing in the game.

What made this weekend particularly frustrating for me is that I had Carr (QB) as my starter right up until about 12:30pm Sunday. But I yanked him at the last second. By halftime of the Colts/Texans game, I thought I had made the right decision. But he ended up having a monster second half (27pts. total), and Roethlisberger managed just 3 points tonight (after deducting pts. for the INTs).

I'm going to have to make a decision next week. I can either start Roethlisberger against a battered Cincy team, and hope that he gets his sh*t together, I can start Carr against a tough Redskins defense, or I can drop one of the two and pick up somebody like Alex Smith, who is looking considerably better this year now that he has some other offensive weapons to rely on (e.g. Frank Gore).

2 big money leagues...

#1 - was losing by less than one point going into tonight, my opponenent was done and I had Jeff Reed going. To compound matters, last night I had Chris Cooley with one catch for 23 yards. :D

#2 - was losing big going into tonight, my opponent was done, I had the Jax D. If Rashean Mathis scored the TD at the very end of that game, I win by 4. Instead, lose by 2... :D

Oh, yeah - and last week in one of these leagues I lost because I needed 7 yards combined from LT and Gates - sitting on the bench with almost nine minutes to go and beating OAK 27-0.

After a lot of success and luck over the years, it looks like the tide has turned against me.

IN my MML, I had PIT team defense/special teams against Roethlisberger, Ward, AND Santonio Holmes . . . if Big Ben threw one to each of those guys it would have been down to a coin flip, but as it is I actally EXPANDED my lead! That puts me at 2-0.

In Dynasty Wars I needed a huge game from FT and didn't get it, dropping me to 1-1.

Peace

Lost to end a 15 game winning streak that goes back to last September in a keeper league. Needed Parker and Miller to score a combined 26 points. We redrafted this year, so the monster team that took me several years to build is no longer together anyways, but it was nice while it lasted.
