Westbrook

he was fine in the offseason...now he's only proving that he is what the critics said he was......and that's injury prone and I am starting to believe it...

I am happy as my opponent has him and Manning who plays the Jags...

but I'd try to move Westy...especially if he plays this week and puts up some good numbers....I'd definately try to move him now..

"Forces" me to play Chester Taylor agin' the Bears... Maybe all that beef up front will help him.

Eh, I'm not even sold on the idea of benching BWB. I stuck with him last week and he did great. Sure, I wish I knew more about what was ailing the man. But everything I've read so far is that his knee gets better with rest, he doesn't need to practice to be good on game day, and (unlike Portis) the coaches aren't going make him "practice to play." If the knee continues to respond well to R&R, I see no reason to bench him against the Niners. If it doesn't, well, I'll blow up that bridge when I cross it.

Is Buckhalter (sp?) worth picking up?

Uh, I have posted this on other threads, but I will reiterate aain:

Buckhalter's role WILL NOT change if Westbrook is hurt. Moats would start and get the same snaps Westbrook gets now.

The Eagles will NOT allow Buck to get 15-20 carries a game....he is strictly a change-of-pace back, and due to back-to-back knee surgeries, the Eagles will not risk losing him again by increasing his workload. Reid has stated this many times.

The correct handcuff for Westbrook is Moats.

Great. I just dropped Colsten to pick up Buckhalter. With LT on bye this week I'm desperate for RB help. So is Moats worth a pick up? Hell I might just drop Buckhalter and pick Colsten back up and forget about the Philly situation all together.

Do you have any solid information to back that up or is this just your opinion? I'm serious.

From what I have read this isn't the case. Where did you get that from?

Like this-

"Correll Buckhalter is Westbrook's primary backup. He gained 6 yards on six carries Sunday, caught one pass for 9 yards, and was stopped on an important fourth-and-less-than-1.

"I don't have a clue," whether Westbrook will play, Buckhalter said yesterday. "Since preseason, my approach to practice has been as if I were a starter. That's the way I'm going to approach it this week."

Buckhalter has missed three of the last four seasons with knee injuries. He definitely would like an opportunity to show he can do more than spot work, but he's happy to have any role after all he's been through.

"It's been a long time coming for me. I'm going to continue to take all the steps to stay out on the field, making plays. Whatever they have for me, whether I'm starting, or whether Westbrook's starting and I'm coming in subbing, it doesn't matter."

You are reading the quote from Buckhalter. Of course he'd like to start...what did you expect him to say? That he'd like to play less?? Problem is, for an offense like the Eagles run, an every-down power RB is not ideal.

Plus, and most important in trying to decipher who the better Eagles RB play might be, it's not the same story Reid has been saying, or the local Philly papers, or 610WIP, the local chat station. Moats has proven he can be a mini-Westbrook, and carry the rock 15-20 times per game. Buckhalter hasn't done that in four years, and I doubt Reid would risk losing what he currently brings as a change-of-pace.

Is it definite? No. But as a Philly homer who reads and listens to Eagles banter daily, my guess is 90% certain that Moats gets the bulk of the work should Westbrook be absent.
