Savage Beatings Posted September 28, 2006 Share Posted September 28, 2006 I needed a backup TE... I drank the Bo Scaife kool-aid and made the FA pickup this week like so many other people. Now I've got this sinking feeling that we'll never hear from Mr. Scaife again. Think he'll continue to produce, or will Ben Troupe finally make himself known to the world of FF, while Bo pulls a Courtney Anderson like disappearing act for the rest of the year? He's a freak and had a nice end to last season but has had absolute bricks for hands the first 3 weeks. When he was on he was averaging about 40-60 yds per game. Scaife is very athletic but a bit undersized for TE. Ridiculous hands, check out his TD catch this past weekend. It's in the highlights available from NFL.com LINK He's had knee problems in the past. Scaife and Young played together for the 2004-05 season. While Dave Thomas was Young's main target at TE that year, I imagine Scaife and Young developed a rapport. I've heard that when Young becomes the starter Scaife will very likely see a major bump in looks due to their time at UT and time in TEN with the 2nd teams. Due to Troupe's struggles even Collins has been looking to Scaife more. He's a worth a flier if you're struggling at TE especially with all the trash time they'll see but probably not worth a look until Young sees more playing time. Bo definitely won't disappear b/c the Titans use their TEs extensively. I would be more weary if Kinney returned.
