msaint
ROTOWORLD: Matt Jones, already struggling with a nagging groin injury, hurt his hamstring in Week 4's loss to the Redskins. The new injury sidelined Jones for most of the second half. Jaguars coach Jack Del Rio is considering holding Jones out of the team's game this weekend. Keep him on fantasy benches until he's 100 percent. Can we pleeeeease stop the Matt Jones hype in fantasy circles now? All this guy has done is tantalize NFL scouts, coaches and FF owners with his "freakish" athletic ability and, yet, he has never once delivered the goods. Why? Because he's apparently a colossal Rosie O'Donnell who can't stay healthy. Ever. And, no, I have never drafted Jones in any league, and didn't this year -- I'm just sick of his name being brought up in trade talks as if he's actually worth something. OK, rant over.... ...talk amongst yourselves...
Furd
No kidding. I remember one thread about Jones being a "bust." He was a fourth tier WR for godssake.
forever in debt to mo lewis
i admit...i bought into it....and after watching him against pittsburgh...i felt like some good things were in store the saddest part is that i reached a bit for him because i was thin at receiver at that point in the draft...and i missed out on a guy i really wanted, at another position...who is doing some big things....im embarrassed to say his name
bushwacked
No kidding. I remember one thread about Jones being a "bust." He was a fourth tier WR for godssake. It seems like other publications had him ranked a lot higher than the Huddle and his name was spoken early and often at a lot of WCOFF drafts near the table I was working at. That makes a bust, so far this season, in some sense.
Scourge
So he is a Rosie O'Donnell because he strained his groin and tweaked his hammy? I drafted him as my 4th or fifth reciever and I think that after their bye, he is going to start producing. If not... Hi ho, Hi ho, It's to the waiver Wire I go.. Chadman
There are plenty of "combine" studs that never seem to translate the athleticism into production in the NFL. This is no enlightening comment, of course. I guess I just never bought into the idea that a pretty good college QB would make the leap from that kind of preparation into being a front line receiver in the NFL. There have been many top flight classically-trained college receivers that never panned out, especially top picks. I admit, he has always been on my watch list, but I never made the leap. I have, however, held various other Jax receivers on my rosters over the years that didn't do any more than he has, so I'm not that smart, really. peepinmofo
Isnt next year his 3rd year? That would mean that he is valuable NEXT year, not this year. This year is Williams year... who I drafted.

Terrible Force
Are you guys actually writing off a second-year wide receiver who was a quarterback in college? Wow. There are some dim bulbs in this forum.

There are some dim bulbs in this forum. i'm not going to call anybody a dim bulb, but i think people are throwing him under the bus a bit too soon. transition time to wr doesn't come overnite. he will always be a good redzone target because of his size. the injury thing is of some concern, he probably should do some yoga or something for flexiblity. he has speed, it just doesn't look like it because he is big. i only own him in one dynasty league, so i'm not really biased one way or another. There are some dim bulbs in this forum. Dim bulbs? Why don't you wait until you can actually prove that comment before ridiculing others? My point was the guy was a quarterback in college and that is part of the reason to have some concerns about his ability to develop into a top fantasy receiver. I don't think many here have written him off, but to have doubts about him just make sense if you want to win a fantasy football league.
