Rovers
Coleman has been in trouble as a FF starter for some time now.... 8/21/06 6:07pm Post #16 Huddler Joined: Jul 27, 2004 Member No.: 7,066 Coleman should be good to go, but his competition is E Smith, not Strait. Smith is a much more prototypical SS than Coleman is... tough guy, hits hard, and is good in the box. Strait is frankly, IMO, none of the above.... he's barely 190 lbs and lacks the speed to be an effective cover guy. These days, an apendectomy isn't the big deal it used to be, and Coleman is practicing on a limited basis already. By week 1, he'll be 100%, but I put the warning flag out on Coleman's starting status a long time ago. Smith has gotten a lot of time during his absence, which didn't help him any. He'll certainly be the #3 safety, but a starter... I'm not so sure. After the abysmal display in Baltimore, there may be a chance Coleman could be given another opportunity as the starter. Personally, I expect to see a lot of rotation in the entire Jets D backfield though.
