loaf
per CBS: Kevin Jones, RB DET News: Lions RB Kevin Jones suffered a concussion late in the game against Minnesota. It ended an otherwise disappointing day for Jones, who had 10 carries for 8 yards and four catches for 42 yards. Coach Rod Marinelli said Jones would be evaluated Monday. Analysis: The Lions play Buffalo in Week 6, which would be a favorable matchup for Jones as a No. 2 RB. However, continue to monitor his injury situation before putting him in your lineup. If Jones practices this week, then he should be considered a starter.

I live in Buff and I'm a huge Bills fan but stopping a team from running one week doesn't say much , the past 3 years everyone has run on them. Spikes is also out for next week. Bedoman
you handcuffed the wrong guy....if Kevin Jones cannot play Shawn Bryson would be the guy getting the bulk of the carries..... Calhoun is nothing more than a 3rd down back if Jones is hurt.....
chiefjay
I wouldn't cuff any of them with three O lineman out. That was a pretty good hit that was laid on him too.

And considering he has barely hit the field this season, I tend to think maybe he isn't really ready yet. That being said, Bryson is not every down back material either as best I can tell. Looks like a crapshoot to me either way. Edited October 10, 2006 by rattsass

Calhoun saw more action than Bryson in the preseason and the team is high on him..besides the huddle likes him

I drafted him in my dynasty league so I am very hopeful he at least gets a chance.
Bedoman
It won't happen with Calhoun....it just won't.....I do not own any of the DET RB's so I am not thinking with my fantasy team brain..... Just I am from Wisconsin and Calhoun was great in College against the BIG TEN weaker teams and non Big team warm up teams....just not the big college teams....he is to small and honestly by NFL standards not that fast.... If Jones is down the DET RB's well will be a crap shoot that will not be good honestly....Jones is their best option not great but best and it goes down quickly from there trust me

But if you've got a link to something saying one way or the other, please share. Watch the games... Calhoun 4 games 2 carries 4 yards 1 reception for 2 yards... 3 touches for 6 yards. Bryson 5 games 2 carries for 1 yard 8 receptions for 98 yards and a touchdown. He's had two big 20+ yard plays in 10 touches. The nfl.com depth charts are not strong enough to follow. Bryson has an understanding of the game and what he's supposed to do. Brian Calhoun needs to learn a lot before taking over that job. If we're talking backups for next year, then it should be Calhoun. He'll have to prove he knows how to run at this level and protect the quarterback a little better before he moves up the charts. None of it matters though, Jones will be back and run all over buffalo. Calhoun saw more action than Bryson in the preseason and the team is high on him..besides the huddle likes him Anthoney Wright saw more action than Carson Palmer... Mike Bell was supposed to be a stud. Who cares what happened in pre-season? Thats why they call it pre-season. The huddle also had Frank Gore lower than he is... They predict things. Predicting things doesnt always transfer into production on the field...

Furd
Bryson will get the majority of the carries if Jones can't go.
spaceboy
Are you guys sure? Bryson seems like the 3rd down back with the catches....
Furd
Are you guys sure? Bryson seems like the 3rd down back with the catches.... With Jones playing, he is a 3rd down back. But Calhoun is not an everydown back, and the bigger and more experienced Bryson is going to get the bulk of the work. Not that it matters from a FF perspective. So basically, you are calling Barry Alvarez a liar? He said Calhoun was the best RB to ever come out of his program.
