Four of us are coming down to Minny for the Pats vs Vikes on MNF Oct 30th. We'll get in town Saturday and head home Tuesday morning. Any recommendations on good places to catch the Sunday games? Any place for good tailgating before the game?

let me know where you guys end up, I'd be up for some beers on Sunday!

Matty B's (owned by Vikings Center, Matt Birk) is getting a lot of play these days. Their Minneapolis location is at Washington and 5th, I believe.

Tailgating is tough for Minnesota games... there are no parking lots specific to the Metrodome. The Vikings website suggests going to a place by the Target Center called Rapid Park which costs you $20 per car. Personally I would never ever do this! But that's just me... I've got my reasons.

Depends on:

Where you are staying, how much money do you want to spend, what do you and the other guys like to do, etc. Any specifics? Plenty to do since you have so much time. Canterbury Park for poker/casino/horseracing. King of Diamonds for a gentleman's club (don't bother with anyplace else in town). Get there for happy hour and the cheap beer from about 3:30 - 5:30. Downtown Minneapolis is fun on Saturday night. St. Paul has some great places. Mall of America if you want to shop for anything, they also have a Hooters there.

Again, depends on location, $$, and what you guys like to do.

Staying at the Minneapolis Marriott West on Wayzata. We've done Mystic Lake Casino before.

I think the Sat plan would be to go downtown and go to a few places (recommendations) for some drinks and scenery. Sunday would be nice to go somewhere and check out a bunch of games at once and with internet access if possible. Sunday night sounds like a casino night and catch the late game somwhere. Monday is either hang at MOA or go to Albertville.

You could always go to GameWorks in Block E and see the stairwell Dwight Smith got busy in? :D

Geez, you couldn't possibly be much farther from me and still be in the Twin Cities area. :D

On top of that, I won't fly back into town until Sunday morning, as I'm working in Indiana that week, still I will be at the game as well, and if you want to meet up for a beer or several before the game, there's always the 7 corners area - Sgt. Prestons/Grandama's/Bullwinkles that are always fun to have a beer at.

As for downtown Minneapolis, I haven't been there in years. Brits Pub I think was one of the places I rather enjoyed. First Avenue is also a possiblity, depending if they have a concert that night or if they are doing their dj thing. I'm sure other Huddlers from that side of town could give you better advice.

For watching a bunch of games, I'm not sure what is out there in St. Louis Park, but there is a Joe Sensers in Edina, which I believe is around 20 minutes from where you are staying. It's near the Mall of America. If there's a Champps nearby, they always have every game on there too.

King of Diamonds. Lots of fun, very expensive drinks when happy hour is over though. Been a while since I've been there too. :D

Basically, if you're just looking for eye candy on a Saturday night, pretty much any bars around the block E/Target Center area are sure to have plenty.

Really depends what you're looking for Saturday. There are plenty of dance clubs - I can't really name a good one, as I tend to stay out of them. Non-dance clubs (but plenty of action) are places like Old Chicago, Champp's, Gameworks, Brother's. There are a few gentlemen's clubs downtown too - Sheik's is the higher-end one, Rick's is usually pretty good. There's typically a free admission pass in the free City Pages that you can find around to avoid the cover charge. Choice is one I've never been in.

http://twincities.citysearch.com/find/sect..._nightlife.html - Go here and you can narrow down to what type of bar you're looking for.

As far as watching the game, there is a Champp's just west of where you are staying, next to Ridgedale mall - it's not a terrible place to watch the game(s). Major's and JJ's Clubhouse are just to east of you - I've never been in either one for game time, though. Joe Sensor's is another pretty good place - I only know of the one in Bloomington, but I think there are more out there.

Tailgating is pretty much non-existant here. There's not much room for it with the stadium right downtown and there is no real Metrodome lot - parking is spread out with smaller lots and parking ramps and such.

I remember decent tailgating years ago in the big lot right off Washington Avenue... Is that no longer an option?

That's my understanding as well. They have some lots designated for tailgating along Washington Ave, at least they did last year.

If nothing else, there's always the deal they just outside the dome. Beer, along with a ton of food stands set up. They usually have a band playing beforehand as well. There's been some decent bands on occasion.

Can't help you on the night life, but the locals have mentioned some pretty good places already.
