i don't think i would care. and i'm not talking from just a fantasy perspective, either. i just feel like it's lost some of its luster, and it doesn't feel like the marquee game of the week anymore. i prefer the odd thursday night and saturday night games, i think because they feel more like an appetizer before the sunday meal, rather than a (usually crappy) dessert. don't get me wrong -- i don't think MNF is going away anytime soon, but i wouldn't miss it if it did.

The NFL switched the marquee game to Sunday Night for the NBC contract.

which, to me, is another reason that makes me think, why bother with monday? i also wonder how big a deal the players think it is to play on monday (on cable, when it's not the marquee game of the week and they have one fewer day to prepare for the next game).

I'd gladly trade MNF for a Thurday or Saturday game every week. But I wouldn't want it cancelled outright. Any football is good football, even if the announcers stink.

I wouldn't miss it in the slightest. There is a whole other world out there, now that it is being telecast on ESPN, that I really wasn't aware of. LOL

My next door neighbors don't have cable or sat... so they don't have to worry about MNF anymore either. The bright side to that, though, is that they now get to watch the late game on Sunday. :D

When I do tune in... which hasn't been often this year... I mute the sound. There is just no way I can listen to all that BS and ignorance. You combine that booth and you still can't come up with double digit IQ points. ESPN is singlehandedly out to eliminate football on Monday from what I can see. And they are doing a fine, fine, job of it too.

Honestly I rarely watch the MNF game. It helps that it's a half hour earlier but I like to be in bed by about 10:30 or so. I would prefer a Saturday Night game but I know that won't happen because of college.

I did prefer it in the old days with the Cossell gang and then even with Michaels, Dierdorf and Gifford.

Plus I like the CBS Monday lineup. :D:D:bash:

Only available on cable TV. They have officially cut out the 'little people' form the MNF club.

Screw them.

There was always something a little special about MNF being on regular TV in prime time. Now the only people who watch are sports minded people making the job of announcing much more difficult. We all expect something special but it's just another football game.

Little excitement anymore with MNF, and staying up that late on a Monday makes a rough start to the work week anyway :D Now staying up late on a Thursday or Friday is a different story. I can manage that. I think.

The only thing I really wouldn't miss is the announcers. I agree with most here that they are dreadful. Luckily, I digitally record the games and can skip most of the blabbering. Couldn't they find decent announcers? I know there aren't many, but still...

Makes my mondays more enjoyable. I dont care who's announcing. BTW, do we have to have this discussion EVERY tuesday about how bad the MNF announcers are? Get over it.

well, originally this was a question of whether you'd miss MNF in general, not necessarily a rant about the announcers. i just tune them out, anyway.
