We will be in Canton on Friday and Buffalo on Saturday and Sunday. 10/20-10-22 Looking info from homers on fun things to do. Really looking for a great place to eat some wings drink some beer and watch some college football on Saturday. Also any advice from anyone who has been to Canton would be helpful. thanks in advance
Finger
I'd head over the border to Toronto...much more action, Buffalo blows!
charty
I'd head over the border to Toronto...much more action, Buffalo blows! And if you don't want to venture as far as Toronto, even crossing the boarder to Niagra will get you some fun entertainment. For Canton, there's not much to say, it's a great take and definately worth the stop. There's not much to offer in the area itself, so stopping as a side trip makes more sense then planning a trip just to go to the HOF. Mano22
Do not go to Anchor Bar. It is a tourist trap and terrible. Duff's is much better. Best wings on earth.

My advice stay the hell out of Buffalo...Niagra Falls has extremely expensive Casino's...25.00 minimum bet. I lost a bunch..lol If you have never seen the Falls they are worth a look..Then I would head to Toronto.

I lost a bunch..lol If you have never seen the Falls they are worth a look..Then I would head to Toronto. This guy's just pissed at Buffalo because we dumped Mike Mularkey on the sorry-ass Dolphux. I would recommend the Seneca Niagara Casino in Niagara Falls, $25 is not the minimum bet at all tables. Check out the Falls itself. I recommend the Maid of the Mist which will take you right under the Falls. It's pretty amazing. I agree with the suggestion for the Chippewa strip in downtown Buffalo. I also would not say the Anchor is a tourist trap by any means. It's on Main Street in Buffalo, and is where the Wing was invented in the '60s. Duffs is also very good and is on Sheridan Drive in the Town of Amherst. Mapquest, google or a good cabbie can get you directions to all. If you're looking for "adult" entertainment, check out the Sundowner or Seductions on Lundy's Lane in Niagara Falls, Ontario. Have a great visit, and never take advice about Buffalo from a Miami Moron.
Piles
Do not go to Anchor Bar. It is a tourist trap and terrible. Duff's is much better. Best wings on earth. Good info here. Anchor bar SUCKS. Duff's by far has some of the best wings you can get. If you are coming from Canton you'll take the 90 to the 290 (head toward Niagara Falls). Get off at the Millersport South Exit (2nd Millersport exit but not sure of the number - you are only on the 290 for about 4 miles or so). You'll merge onto Millersport South and I believe the 2nd light is Sheridan Drive. Duffs is right on the corner of Sheridan and Millersport (little white building with red shutters). Take a left onto sheridan and an immediate right into the parking lot. You will NOT be disappointed. Another great wing place is called Mattina's. They have the BEST barbecue wings around and they are huge. As for things to do, you can always do the falls if you haven't already. Head over to Niagara Falls on the Candadian side and you have a couple of casinos you can hit up and the "Canadian Ballet" is right in Fort Erie. Check out Pure Platinum if you have time. If you want the bar scene then definitely hit up chippewa. If you want any other info PM me and I'll get back to you.... Hope you have a good time... Brewer
Do not go to Anchor Bar. It is a tourist trap and terrible. Duff's is much better. Best wings on earth. Yup. Excellent info here. Be very, very careful with the heat selection. Decide which level you can handle, then drop 2 levels and start there.
millerx
Yup. Excellent info here. Be very, very careful with the heat selection. Decide which level you can handle, then drop 2 levels and start there. Curious....are the Buffalo wings better in Buffalo, just because that is where they were created?? I mean, I hear the philly cheesesteaks are better in Philly, N.Y. pizza is better in New York, etc.....
satelliteoflovegm
It's all about the sauce and size. IMO BBQ sauce isn't Buffalo wings, hot sauce are Buffalo wings. So I would question that advice above. I'll be at the game too, enjoy, I have good seats though .
aqualung
I used to take a trip down to Allen St. in the late 60's early 70's. Edited October 13, 2006 by aqualung

satelliteoflovegm
Generally yes, because of the sauce. Also the quality of the wing, size etc... But I normally don't have wings when I am elsewhere, I have the local deal.
T_bone65
You mean Buffalos don't have wings
nhoops
I'm serious.... are they any different? Better? All the locals say they are. I have a buddy who goes there for business from time to time and agrees as well. Got married south of Buffalo and went to the Anchor bar with my boys, had a great time (surprisingly cheap too) Have Fun!

i_am_the_swammi
Bring your snow apparel....they got dumped with 2 feet of the powder yesterday. And do head accross the border to Niagara for some fun...Cuban cigars, full frontal gals, good casinos (yes, they are usually $25 tables on Friday and Saturday nights when demand is up, so go during the day). And if you do go to Canada, remember your passport....driver's license doesn't cut it anymore in today's world.
