PantherDave
I don't know if it was a "statement" game, but the Cat's are back to business as usual. The Ravens had not impressed me so far this season when they were 4-0, and were exposed in Denver somewhat as well. Delhomme could have thrown for over 400 yds on that secondary today, but they got conservative, and rightfully so, in the 4th quater. All I know is the Panthers are back to full strength offensively and will be tough to beat down the stretch.

Kyle Boller isn't very good and Baltimore's offense scored 21 on them. They need to fix their defense and they should be back to what they were. Letting Witherspoon go is hurting them. Wrong, they scored 21 pts but two were flukes off of deflected balls, not surgical strikes by Boller.
CD6405
The first one was a fluke to Clayton, the others weren't. Especially the catch by Heap, just took it away from Minter and the DB.
PantherDave
Then your blind, the first was a fluke and so was the second-Heap's was the third and only nice pass.
Flip_Side
You guys played Boller. Delhomme really did pick apart the defense though.

DaBearssz
Yeah seriously I thought the Panther defense was supposed to be better then the bears. So far the panthers defense has sucked. Rex Grossman owns Delhomme

PantherDave
The Nawlins game was sweet, but they were at home vs Philly who just had a very emotional game the week before, whereas the Panthers were on the road vs a team that lost the previous week. The Ravens did have the short week etc., but no one picked the Panthers to come into Baltimore and get this win-hence it was more a statement game. I don't truly feel it was due to the fact that the Panthers are the better team and while I was the minority this week for sure-I expected them to win this game. Say what you will about the Panthers, but they have not allowed a 100yd rusher since week 2 and they had 2 ints, 2 sacks and a forced fumble by Peppers that was recovered by the Panthers. They have won 4 in a row and are one of the hottest teams in the league-wether you like that fact or not is irrelevant at this point 4-2 is 4-2 and they have beaten the NFCS leader already in Nawlins. They are rounding into form and will have to be reckoned with down the line-count on it. Edited October 15, 2006 by PantherDave
LooGie
The 2 deflected passes were flukes, but I have to admit, Kyle actually did a fine job against the CAR D, and he got better as the game wore on. Almost like the D was getting tired. Alot of conversions and a very nice TD pass. (Although I disagree with the "forced out" ruling) CAR always ALWAYS starts slow and picks it up by mid to late season. It's just how they work. If they make 5-3 by the bye, they should be a force to be reckonded with for sure. edit: regarding their record. CHI is still the cream of the NFC (or NFL if you like) and all NFC roads to 41 will go through Soldier field (especially with that schedule) but CAR plays better on the road anyway. PSULions
This was the best gaame so far this season with the passing game starting to look I thought it would. Smith is the difference maker we need on offense to get points on the board and had it not been for the fluke deflection that Clayton took for the 62 yd TD this game would not have been that close. Boller did play better than I expected so it will be interesting to see if they make a change after their bye next week. Hopefully, we can take another W against the Bengals next week and come home at 5-2 for the Cowboys game on SNF.

PSULions
Great win, now, go beat the Bengals !!!! We will be every happy to do that Menudo! I was quite surprised the Bengals lost to the Bucs yesterday and with our offense starting to click, I like our changes to win the game next weekend. The Bengals will be smarting from their 2nd straight loss and will be ready to get the W at home, but I look for another big game from S. Smith now it looks like his hammy is fully healed. i_am_the_swammi
Cant wait till the NFC Championship. Me too...though its strange you are eagerly anticipating seeing Philly play the Panthers? I mean, after all, weren't the Bears crushed in the playoffs at home last year? I guess playing those warm-up squads from their own division can't prepare them for the elite of the NFL. i_am_the_swammi
They are rounding into form and will have to be reckoned with down the line-count on it. Not unless they get that running game fixed....I wouldn't count on Delhomme throwing for 360 and Smith going off for 180+ every week. Well, Foster actually did ok vs a very stingy BAL running D. He got tired (I'm assuming) and that's why he was so pathetic and pitiful in the 2nd half. I seriously doubt BAL changed there game plan at half time to stop Foster from his 2.5 yards a carry or whatever it was. If it was a loss, i would've been bitching like crazy because they NEEDED to stick with the running game. You have to have a run game in the playoffs. Period. Foster gets a pass because it was a good run D. and the coaching staff COMPLETELY left the running game in the 2nd. (albeit when they realized Foster couldn't do ANYTHING) but i dont think you can say "our offense is so dynamic we can be 1 dimensional and still win, althought they were even worse last year and still made the championship game) what do i know. I'm not a head coach.
