ropeman
I'm the commish of a keeper league and we're incorporating IDPs next year and dropping team defense. Any suggestions for number of players, positions, and points.
TheShiznit
We don't do keeper league but here is our system. A person has to start at least one Defensive lineman...no more than two. A person has to start at least two Linebackers...no more than four. A person has to start at least one defensive back...no more than two. In total you have to start 6 defensive players. Defensive line = either DT or DE doesn't matter. and DB= CB or S doesn't matter. We get 2 points per tackle, one point per assist. 5 points per sack. 5 points per recovered fumble. 10 points per interception. Also, if a player either intercepts or recovers a fumble and runs it back for a TD, that player gets an additional 6 pts for the TD and then 1 point for every 10 return yards. last but no least, if the defensive player happens to recover or intercept the ball and in the ensuing runback inturn fumbles it back to the other team...that player is charged -2 points for a fumble lost. And in the improbable chance the player ever throws a pass and it is intercepted...-2 points. If the player plays on offense...it is treated as any offensive player would be in PPR leagues with 1 point for every 10 yards receiving or rushing. 6pt TD's and 2pt for conversions. Hope this didn't confuse ya!!!!
URLACHERisGOD
Pending upon how knowledeable your guys are with IDPs. If this is the first year for a lot of them, start with 1 at each "position" (i.e. 1 DL, 1 LB, and 1 DB). If they have a little more experience, go with: 1. 3 at each "position" 2. 2 at each "position" with 2 or 3 FLEX spots 3. (my favorite) run a 3-4 or a 4-3 and run 11 IDPs.
