Leinart

Still, after carving up the #1 defense in the league last week, you'd still expect better numbers against the worst team in the league, rookie or not.

Bulger on a bye, dropped Brunell for Leinart specifically for this matchup. Even the best laid plans can go awry with a rook at the helm...

Oaklands pass D is ranked 1st in the league. Leinert struggling shouldn't have been much of a surprise.

meh...they may lead the league in least yards allowed via the pass, but they are hardly ranked #1 in points given up via the pass.

Alex Smith and Charlie Frye both threw for 3 tds. Hardly seasoned vets.

Phillip Rivers, in his first NFL start was able to throw for a td

Steve Mcnair threw for one against them as well.

Up until this last weekend, the only game Oakland did not allow a td via the pass was against Jake Plummer.

come on now, none of you guys saw this coming?? :D

I'm not saying I "saw it coming" but I tend to expect a rookie QB to have a game where he utterly falls apart, sometimes with reason, sometimes without.

I didn't expect it this week, but I wasn't shocked.
