Bart Scott insinuates Bush injury intentional

This is f'n bull****. :D

RAVENS BULLIED BUSH

At least one member of the Baltimore Ravens defense had some choice words for Saints running back Reggie Bush after Sunday's win at New Orleans, and it almost sounds like Bush's sprained ankle was intentionally inflicted.

"The media darling, [a/k/a] the golden boy of the NFL, tried to take a cheap shot at me," said linebacker Bart Scott, "so I told him I was going to put some extra on it. He must be used to playing against these guys in practice. He can do all those shakes he wants, but I wasn't going anywhere. I put a little hot sauce on that ankle."

In all, Scott wasn't impressed with the 2005 Heisman winner. "He's just a guy, simple as that. What did he get this week? He played like a kid who got chased from school."

Meanwhile, Mike Preston of the Baltimore Sun suggests that Bush "quit" in the second quarter of Sunday's game, at one point taking a dive to avoid a big hit from linebacker Ray Lewis.

In all, Bush's day was indeed his worst as a pro. Five caries for 16 yards, four catches for five yards, and one interception thrown on a halfback option pass. FOX analyst Terry Bradshaw, whose crush on Bush is second only to Kornholio's man-love for James Denton of Desperate Housewives, actually called the throw "beautiful."

Yeah. It was beautiful. For the Ravens.

I'm not one for sour grapes, Ravens won that game because we sucked. But Scott should be suspended for even suggesting that he inflicted Bush's injury intentionally. This really pisses me off. I hope to h*ll we get another shot at Baltimore this year. Karma's coming your way Scott. :D

You don't want to see what goes on at the bottom of the pile in every game. Knuckles, pulling, twisting, scratching, and probably biting if they could. Linemen take knuckles to the throat a couple times a game. I see plenty of "final touches" after a tackle as the defender starts to get back up and is still holding the ankle/leg. Just a little extra twist to finish it off.

Heck, anytime two 300 pounders ram into each other (intentionally or unintentionally), I'm surprised someone doesn't get up slowly.

Would only make the news if it's blatant (Tennessee player) or if it affects a high visibility player.

I understand that there are a lot of dirty players & dirty plays in football, that is still no excuse. But this POS is publicly professing it like it's something to be proud of and what's worse is the reporter & newspaper printed it like there is nothing wrong with it. Truly & completely classless on every level. The whole article smacks of arrogance. Maybe it is just sour grapes that has me so fired up about it, but until I saw this I was just saying how the Saints played horribly & the Ravens were a better team. Talent-wise, maybe they are. But I were a Ravens fan today I'd be embarrased even in victory. :D

Yes, it is. Simma down now. It's football. He's not a QB. He better get used to it, and toughen up and stop pouting on the sidelines after he has a bad play or series. He's just getting welcomed to the NFL by the "big and bad" Ravens. :D

Don't think so. Can you save the image and blow it up? That is from a MotoGP race this year. Marco Melandri burning the tire coming around the last turn in a win. It does look alot cooler blown up. :D BTW, American Nicky Hayden won the 2006 (Season) MotoGP World Championship this past weekend. First time an American has won it since 2000. :D For those that don't follow it, it's like the NFL, MLB, etc. of Motorcycle racing. I know, I know....wrong forum. :bash:

If true, very classless (whether it happens a lot in the pile or not), and I'd agree that the tape should be reviewed to see if a suspension is warranted.

The Ravens knocked Reggie Bush out of the game in the fourth quarter. He went to the locker room after suffering an ankle sprain.

"I´m looking forward to playing against Tampa Bay Sunday," said Bush after limping from the shower to his locker following the game. Bush was wrenched to the ground by linebacker Bart Scott, who rolled over Bush´s lower legs as the two spun down. Scott also gave the ankles an extra twist after the tackle.

Like I said, I know this happens all the time, but the guy is gloating about it to the media. Edited by rajncajn

It is football, not ballet. If you don't think there are certain players that are targeted for a "little extra" by defenders, you are living in a dream world. Look what happenned to Chad Johnson yesterday after he flapped his gums all week. Were those hits unintentional? Take the blinders off.

Bush probably tried to get in a little extra after the whistle one time and the rook paid a price.

Yeah, I guess you're right....this goes on the NFL all the time. What Scott said should be laughed about & that style of play should be encouraged & applauded by players & fans alike.

In case you didn't notice, that was baited sarcasm. :D

So you are assuming Bush did something?

So it's not ballet. Target shooting is dangerous too but shooters don't turn guns on each other. Football does have rules that punish intentional injury,

It's like the 2nd sentence of the article. Stuff like that happens all the time and has a way of working itself out. I don't see what the big deal is. It wasn't a dirty play or tackle and we will probably never be privy to what caused the riff between the two. It's a non-issue. Sack up already.

I didn't see the play. Is what you are upset about the actual play or the fact that he is talking smack about it?

If the play was dirty, he should be penalized. If the uproar is about a guy talking after he laid a legitimate hit on somebody and that said somebody got hurt, then I think it is much ado about nothing.

Was there a flag thrown on the play? Were you upset when you saw the play or after you heard the talk?

I agree the talk is despicable, but I saw the tackle several times on replays and it looked perfectly legal. It looks to me like chest-thumping by someone who is clearly compensating for something... :D

Hi, Hoppy! All is well. I am always lurking. I just don't post much. Bummer about the Elk Lodge busting up. It was just your luck that it was the year your Mets actually beat out the Braves. I hope all is well with you.

I saw the replay several times as well and didn't see any "extra twist" after the tackle. I hate the Ravens, but have to say the play looked completely legit, and Bush appeared to get hurt early in the tackle, as opposed to as Scott was getting up and supposedly giving the ankle "an extra twist"...

Nothing to see here...
