Steeltown Dre
Menudo, how do you see the following injuries impacting this weekend's matchup? I'm speaking from a gambling perspective. Right now the Steelers are -2.5 favorites. I realize they won in Denver last year, but they are playing much different than they did in the AFC Championship. I see a Championship team w/ their backs up against the wall. Really, that's what they were last week. With that loss, I don't know what to expect this week. They won't be throwing in the towel, that is for sure. But do you see them needing to play a perfect game to get the victory? There are several games this year which they lost solely (in my opinion) due to turnovers. Denver's D looked much less impressive last weekend, but Manning is on another level along w/ Tom Brady. It seems to me when the offense is clicking and play calling is successful, the passing game really opens up for Ben. He can hit guys in 1 on 1 coverage. But if we can't get clicking, and get in 3rd and long and they drop guys back, Ben hasn't been very successful this year reading coverage and keeps trying to fit the ball into tight spaces and double coverage. I already took Den +3 (bought .5 points) and some on the Den ML. I may buy some back later in the week if money comes in for Denver and Pitt becomes a good -1 pick, but only if I can envision them winning. They regrouped last home stand and killed KC. Can they muster the same up against Denver? We'll do a fair job limiting their rushing success, and while Jake was good against the Indy D on roll outs and completing the big play down the field, I imagine LeBeau has some clever blitz packages in store for him. The thing is, will Ben/Washington/Holmes be able to pick on Williams like Manning/Wayne did? I don't think w/ the same success, and that really made the difference for Indy. We do have a better run game than Indy, but how does losing Hartings impact that? Jeff Hartings – C – Pittsburgh Steelers C Jeff Hartings injured a knee Sunday and will be out for what coach Bill Cowher termed an extended period of time. Chukky Okobi will replace him as the starter. Arnold Harrison – Pittsburgh Steelers LB Arnold Harrison was lost for the season Sunday with a knee injury. The Steelers will have to sign yet another linebacker to replace him. Verron Haynes – RB – Pittsburgh Steelers RB Verron Haynes was lost for the season Sunday with a knee injury. His loss means Duce Staley, who has been inactive for all but one game, likely will dress on gamedays.

Bronco Billy
You just got beaten by freakin' OAK! Now you think that you can hang with a team that just fought IND to a standstill before succumbing with 2 seconds left? Good luck with that. Just put down the pipe & slowly back away from the table. NAUgrad
Sorry but it just ain't going to happen. Denver's D scores at least once, and Pitt is alowed only field goals in this loss. Ben is not Manning by a long shot.

Can you provide anything regarding my post? You have a good read on this team (albiet a biased one but that is to be expected). What are they saying about Hartings and his replacement? You think DEN will play the same D with the same personnel as last year's championship game? You're even more delusional than I thought... You're even more delusional than I thought... No, I don't. I do think Denver is over-rated. I do think the Steelers are MUCH better than they have showed. (They gave 3 games away) I do think the timing is right for a Steelers victory this Sunday. I don't fully believe everything in this post (wishful thinking / fishing trip), but, I do think the Steelers win Sunday. What is the line on the game ? I mean with the way you are talking, I would think Denver would be 10+ point favorites, being that the Steelers are 2-5 coming off a loss to Oakland...... What are they saying about Hartings and his replacement? Yes, sorry. Hartings injury will have a big effect on the offensive line, unfortunately. As a veteran Center, he was responsible for calling out assignments, etc. Okobi is a capable backup, but, he just isn't as seasoned as Hartings. Haynes loss won't hurt too badly, as I think Parker is more than capable to handle the 3rd down role with Davenport. The Arnold Harrison injury has only affects special teams, unless Porter or Haggans go down. As for this week, it will obvioulsy be a tough game against Denver, but, at home, I see this as a similar situation to Kansas City two weeks ago. The Steelers are still talented. They were humiliated last week, and I expect a solid performance Sunday.
