samurai30
just speculating..but Mike Bell will get most of the carries....and definitely GL carries...but how well will he do against Pitts...D....though? The Denver Post reports that RB Tatum Bell (toe) "sounds resigned to a ... reduced role until his feet get healthy." Coach Mike Shanahan called Tatum Bell his "starter" Monday, but the newspaper speculates that Mike Bell may get significant work again in Week 9. "I would expect Mike to get in there and try to help me get back," Tatum Bell said. "The way he's running, hopefully he can carry it on through this next week." http://www.denverpost.com/broncos/ci_4577611

The Wolf
"I would expect Mike to get in there and try to help me get back," Tatum Bell said. Everything with Tinker is "Me, I, My." Many of the quotes attributed to him are all about himself and he expects things to happen for him. Mike Bell, on the other hand, is a very humble individual. Very team oriented from what I have seen and heard. Strictly from the human side of sports, I root for guys like Mike Bell to succeed. From the fantasy side, I do not think it matters who will start in this game; turf toe is not easily gotten rid of and Mike Bell will be a factor in this game. MrTed46
I will be the first to admit that I didnt expect Tatum to give up his job to Mike but having double turf toe is BAD. I have a case of turf toe in highschool and I couldn't walk the way I wanted to for a while. I can't imagine NFL caliber arena and having it on each foot. I think M Bell value will be good at least for 1-2 weeks then we just have to rely on skeletor to make a decision.
Bronco Billy
link INJURY REPORT: Running back Tatum Bell could be limited this week because of turf toe - the big toe on his left foot. Bell battled the injury in practice last week and asked coaches at halftime Sunday if they could spell him. Mike Bell then ran for 135 of his 136 yards in the second half. "(Tatum Bell) is still pretty sore, similar to what it was last week," Shanahan said. "We've just got to wait and see how he does."

I'm not sure I'll start him against Pitts though...Pitts will be very angry after losing to the lowly raiders

Avernus
here's what I posted...I'll add it here Tatum Bell, RB DEN News: According to the Denver Post, Mike Bell is expected to see the majority of carries against Pittsburgh. Tatum Bell has been slowed by two sprained big toes. Tatum Bell might play against the Steelers. He might even start. But even he sounds resigned to a significantly, if temporarily, reduced role until his feet get healthy. "I would expect Mike to get in there and try to help me get back," Tatum Bell said. "The way he's running, hopefully he can carry it on through this next week. There won't be no drop-off if I'm not in there because we know Mike is going to come in there and get it done." Tatum Bell said he initially suffered a mild case of turf toe while rushing for 123 yards against New England in the Broncos' third game, and aggravated his condition while gaining 115 yards two Sundays ago at Cleveland. Against a porous Indianapolis Colts defensive front Sunday, Tatum Bell could gain only 27 yards on 13 carries as his injured toes would not allow him to plant and accelerate. "It was hurting pretty bad," Tatum Bell said. "I was going to try it, but it just didn't hold up. Good thing Mike got in there and got off." Mike Bell got one carry for a 1-yard leap in the first half, then stormed through gaping holes created by his offensive line for 135 yards and two touchdowns on only 14 carries in the second half. Analysis: Once again, things in Denver are confusing with the running back situation. With Tatum Bell banged up, consider him a No. 2 RB vs. a good Steelers run defense. The same could be said about Mike Bell, who had a good game against Indianpolis. Keep an eye on the situation during the week to see if Shanahan gives any inside information. Avernus
also...in my local, here's how RB's have fared against the steelers this season...an average RB aims to get 20+ pts.....anything less by a stud is a bad game.. week 1: RBrown 24 pts week 2: Fred Taylor 16 pts week 3: Rudi 8 pts weel 4: BYE week 5: LT 17 pts week 6: LJ 11 pts week 7: Dunn 12 pts week 8: LJ2 2 pts
FishFreak
I'm assuming M. Bell starts and gets the majority if not all the carries this week. There is a good chance T. Bell is inactive with turf toe in both feet. The question then becomes, what will M. Bell get against the Steeler D in Pittsburgh? That's a tough match-up against a desperate team. I own MB and will be starting him but I'm assuming yards will be tough to get against Pittsburgh.

Bronco Billy
That's a tough match-up against a desperate team. It really doesn't matter whether a team is desperate or not. What matters is if they can do something about it. Right now, it would appear that PIT can't. The team they really should have desperate against was a very poor OAK team - one that people were conjecturing not 2 weeks ago whether they'd win a game this year. PIT couldn't beat that team. Then you add the loss of Hartings (huge loss) and we're looking at a team that may be beyond desperate & rather one that is ready to implode. I hear ya but things always have the potential to get ugly on the road. The Steelers are still a proud team and won't throw in the towel due to some injuries and early season failures. Again, I'm looking at this from a M. Bell standpoint who I'm starting. It's still hard to run on Pittsburgh. That's one area that remains consistent.
