Cowboyz1
I love Sirius radio's NFL channel. However, I was with my son on the way home from football practice, which is a 3 minute drive and we counted 25 uhhs in about 1 minute. You would think someone would tell him to take your time but the UHHS have got to stop. Maybe a 12 step program or something. He may be the best wide out in the world, with some good things to say, but man he sounds like an idiot. I find myself gun shy of the next uhh from his mouth. Maybe it's just me but wow that's a $hit load of uhhs on one radio show. Maybe that's why he got no love from the endorsment community. Disclaimer: If this is some sort of speach thing that I am unaware of, then I appologize.

LooGie
i usually don't mind Jerry, but tonight was extra bad. He gets going like Stuttering John or something. I was seriously considering calling him and telling him to take a speech class. But i wisely chose to mind my own damn business and tune to Howard 100. I NEVER change it off of NFL. EVER. Not once since this season started. Until tonight.
kraftykraft
Jerry Rice spent all his time before his Sirius gig taking ballroom dancing classes for "Dancing with the Stars". He should have worked with a speach coach instead.

Bronco Billy
I know! I know! Here's a solution that goes way outside the box: If you don't like it, try either changing the channel or turning off the radio & talking with your kid instead. I know, it's crazy, but it just might work....

People who stutter typically start a sentence with something that easy to say like uhhs. I know it can be annoying not just to you but to him as well. Let's layoff the guy. BeeR
I'll still take even him over most if not all of the goofballs on the TV pre-game shows, esp clowns like Sharpe (either one) or probably the king of clowns Irvin. Oh yeah and don't forget Romo, who pauses like a half hour between words. Listening to him is like being behind an old lady doing 10 mph under the speed limit in the passing lane. PS has Faulk explained "we didn't land on no moon" yet

It's not stuttering so much as poor speech. I for one am NOT laying off. He sux and it's a discredit to Sirius NFL Radio and a major disservice to its listeners. He's awful. You've obviously never heard it. Not only that, but it takes him like 2 minutes to make a 10 second observation and at the end has said nothing. No man, you got this one wrong. He's really, really, bad.

Rice honestly is the very worst I've ever listened to. With the other guys it's content, which I can agree or disagree with. With Rice, it's just extremely hard to physically listen to - almost to the point of me wanting to throw my radio out of the car. Dare I say he sounds kinda dumb actually. Randall
"Is the pot calling the kettle black?" asked the spelling coach. Isn't that Yukon? To the others- Sirius does have a lot of other good channels. Just tune him out. Try ESPN or one of the music channels.

Let's layoff the guy. actually, it's a sign of being unsure of yourself or what you're delivering. (this could be due to stuttering of course) As a sales GOD AND GENIUS (at one point in my life) I can tell you that it's very important to not say uhh, or umm. as people generally don't trust you. It's a subconscious thing. When you can speak without using ums and uhhs, people actually gain MORE trust for you. So it would behoove Jerry to get his but to a speech guy or just have a friend say "Nu Wave Oven Jerry. quit saying uhh so much you moran newbie hugh tool!" It does take him forever to not really say anything. buuuut... he has football knowledge like no other person, and he has "clout" to get the big time super stars booked for big interviews. He provides real good insight between his "uhhs" ESPECIALLY when he's talking about certain incidents around the NFL ESPECIALLY with WRs

A chip of the ole block if you will. 11 years old playing pee wee tackle and blowin up the backfield. Gotta love it.
