Sounds like Leftwich is done for the year

Doesn't sound too good for the chances of Leftwich coming back and taking the job from Garrard this year. From Rotoworld:

Jaguars head coach Jack Del Rio says Byron Leftwich (ankle) is at "about 80-95 percent" and will probably "need a long time off."

"In my opinion, he's about as good as he's going to get," said Del Rio, also acknowledging that Leftwich will likely need offseason ankle surgery. While Del Rio has said Leftwich is his starter when healthy, he also implied that wouldn't happen this season. It's David Garrard's job to lose the rest of the way.

Here's a link to their source article from the Jaguars' website:

And the relevant quotes from the Jags' site:

"Byron (Leftwich) is about 85-90 percent and is probably not going to get better than that until he has a long time off. In my opinion, he's about as good as he's going to get,” said Del Rio, who talked about the probable need for offseason clean-up surgery on Leftwich's left ankle...

Del Rio has maintained that Leftwich is the team's number one quarterback and would return to the lineup when he is fully recovered, but Monday's news would suggest Leftwich won't make a full recovery until the season is over.

Sounds pretty safe to drop Leftwich I guess.

I've never seen anyone with a noggin the size of Byron Leftwich. His head is friggin HUGH!

Well, maybe Jerome Bettis...and Barry Bonds post 1998.

But other than that I've never seen anyone with a head the size of Byron Leftwich. That guy must have a custom-made helmet. I don't know haow he keeps his balance.
