Hat Trick
With today being election day and the QB debate picking up steam here in KC....who should be the starting QB in Kansas City? The Kansas City Star The campaign seems to be heating up for Damon Huard, who has led the Chiefs to victories in five of their last six games. We’ve heard your voices, and we’re bringing this issue before you on Election Day. Your vote, please: Who should be the Chiefs’ starting quarterback for the rest of the season, Trent Green or Damon Huard? Cast your vote online at kansascity.com. Polls close at noon Wednesday. We’ll reveal the winner on Sunday. Damon Huard •PLATFORM: A player who’s performing this well shouldn’t be benched. •KEY ISSUES: He hadn’t completed a pass in five years when Green got hurt Sept. 10. He’s now the NFL’s second-rated passer (105.2) and has put Tony Gonzalez back in the offense. After his slow start in the polls, Chiefs Nation has warmed up to him. •ENDORSEMENTS: “I can’t say enough about Damon Huard.” — Coach Herm Edwards “Incredible. Incredible.” — Tight end Tony Gonzalez “Damon’s doing terrific. Not good, but terrific.” — President/GM Carl Peterson •BIO: A self-styled journeyman (“It means you’ve played for a lot of teams”) who made only six NFL starts before this season. Was an NFL Europe standout. Played basketball in high school. Married to Julie with two daughters and a son. Trent Green •PLATFORM: A player shouldn’t lose his starting job because of injury. •KEY ISSUES: He’s 36 and coming off a severe concussion. But he made 81 consecutive starts, went to two Pro Bowls and threw for 4,000 yards in three straight seasons. He’s established himself as the Chiefs’ most-successful QB behind Len Dawson. •ENDORSEMENTS: “Trent Green is the starting quarterback. When he’s ready to play, he’s going to play.” — Coach Herm Edwards “He still could play a few more years. He’s still a heck of a quarterback.” — Former Cowboys QB Roger Staubach “He’s the leader of this football team.” — President/GM Carl Peterson •BIO: Presiding over the Chiefs since 2001. Mostly behind the scenes during previous stops in San Diego, Washington and St. Louis. Played basketball in high school. Married to Julie with two sons and a daughter. FWIW the curent vote on KC Star is 838 to 764 in favor of Trent Green.
Savage Beatings
If the Chiefs would like to continue winning, Huard is the clear choice for this season. If it were Peyton Manning coming back from an injury, then yes he automatically gets his starting job back... but a rusty Trent Green is obviously not the way to go at this point IMHO. Turf Smurf
Wow, it's 4-2 here for Huard. Hope this isn't a bad omen for the red states. I voted Green. I don't believe he should lose his job because of an injury assuming he can come back at or near 100%.
Whiskey Pimp
I understand that you don't lose your position due to injury, but it's not like Green missed 2 games. He's been out for quite a while so I voted to stick with Huard.

Randall
And do what the Patriots did with Brady. Let Huard keep playing and keep Green ready in case he falters.
CD6405
Where's Brodie Croyle?
Jimmy Neutron
The "right" choice is probably Huard, but if it were up to me I'd give Green his due.
Hat Trick
Where's Brodie Croyle? Kid's got a heck of an arm....and I know you're only joking...but he doesn't even have a sliver of the offense down yet.
