AZZURRI
At this point, what is SA worth to a struggling team? I offerred a guy in a must-win situation Deshaun Foster for him. Normally, that would be laughable, but I have no idea when, if ever, SA will come back this season (Madden Curse). Any thoughts on his value, right now, in week 10? skylive5
Having the #1 pick in a draft I took Alexander. He has been worth absolutely diddly squat. Which is what I have come to expect when I have the #1 pick. However... I have held on to him because I believe he will be there come the last few weeks of the FF season and will be explosive since he will want to show he is NFL PO ready and is the same ol' Alexander. I expect he will be ready come week 12. If he isn't, I would expect you couldn't get a piece of string for him let alone a Foster, so I would think that at this current moment in time your guy may take that offer. Depending on if you are a re-draft or a keeper.
montster
for what it's worth, this trade happened last week in my redraft league: shaun alexander and t.j. houshmandzadeh for ronnie brown and larry fitzgerald.
i_am_the_swammi
Our league requires we start 2 QBs, and I had plenty of good depth there, so I gave up Brees & Jennings fro Alexander 3 weeks ago, under the assumption he'd return return Week 9. Two extra weeks on the pine have not helped, but I too beleive he will carry my squad during the most important time of the year. If he comes back strong, my starting line-up will look like this: Delhomme & Favre Sjax, KJ & Alexander Fitz & Stallworth (with Burress & Glenn as plug-ins these past several weeks) LJ Smith Gould Bears defense Losing Brees's production hasn't hurt me, except in our total points race....KJ & Sjax have been largely responsible for my 2-0 record these past two weeks without SA. Cunning Runt
Funny this came up because I was on my way to the boards to post an Alexander trade. The trade was Warrick Dunn for Alexander. The team that traded Alexander is 3-14-1 (we play doubleheaders). Team that got SA is 14-4 and in 2nd place. This borders IMO on being a trade that can be overturned and as commish I am inviting comments from the league. A team, though mathmetically still in the playoff race, has no business making a trade like this and it is detrimental to the league. Maybe if he'd gotten a decent receiver also, but straight up? No. Dunn is not going to salvage the guy's season. He's weak all over.

Dunn is healthy, and will play the whole year....SA may not. When they both played the 1st several weeks of the season, Dunn outperformed SA. You guys should be cheering this trade, since the guy trading Dunn will lose a top-12 RB from his roster, and may not be getting anything in return. And even if SA returns, who knows how he will perform. The team getting SA is taking on a ton of risk....it may pan out, it may not. Just because, it appears, other teams are not deep enough to give up a top RB like Dunn for a high risk/high-reward player like SA, who are you to veto the deal? Shame on you for your Hitler-esque motives in trying to control what other teams do.

Which is what I have come to expect when I have the #1 pick. I feel for your situation (lost TD to what turned out to be his career ending injury as my #1 pick) but as an LJ and LT owner in different leagues, I speak for all when I say..."Thank you!" I'm Rick James Bitch
I traded Julius for SA 3 weeks ago and I thought it was a steal. Now, the weeks are ticking away and if SA doesn't get going soon, Im gonna have big problems. High risk, high reward. It's what FF is all about and to the commish who may veto that Dunn trade, I wouldn't play in your league.
Atlas
I just obtained SA for W.Parker and Driver. I've got SJax and a choice of ATrain, DeAngelo Williams and Marion Barber to keep the spot warm for a while. Meanwhile Driver sits behind Colston and Holt, so he wasn't doing me any good on the bench. I'm wallowing at an unimpressive 5-4, in second palce behind a 6-3 and ahead of a 4-5, so no one's going anywhere fast. Additionally, Pitt has a tough playoff schedule with the Balt and Carolina D, so Parker may or may not be the best match-up those weeks. The guy who moved Alexander is 3-6 and last in his division, so it shouldn't come back and bite me. A bit of a gamble. If Parker goes nuts and SA misses the rest of the season, it was a poor deal. NAUgrad
Another for what its worth, My league just voted down me getting SA and Boldin while I was giving up Housh and Addai. That is freakin CRAP! I'd be pissed! This whole season seams to be about people valueing players way to high based solely on past performances. This is a perfect example. Both Mosses are another! TheGrunt
Another for what its worth, My league just voted down me getting SA and Boldin while I was giving up Housh and Addai. What was their reasoning for turning the trade down? I have Shaun Alexander on my team currently and while he is hurt, I also respect and love what he did for my team last year (keeper league). Not only that, but Alexander will more than likely produce valuable numbers next year when he's completely healthy. Even then, I still think that is a fair trade. I'd be so pissed if my league turned that down!
RussMan
I traded Ronnie Brown for him last week... then of course Brown scores 18 vs Chi... LOL. The guy I traded with is on the verge of missing the playoffs and it was easily the best offer he got if not the only one. Word is SA might play next week... I do know he has a favorable schedule so if he can get back to full power by playoffs I think it was a great trade.... time will tell. If I can get him healthy I will be able to run Tiki, F Taylor, and Alexander and that sounds pretty solid....

jake_the_builder
Team in Sig, I liked my depth, so I am taking a chance on SA for a late playoff run and if not, next year at the least. I gave up a mid 1st round and late 1st round, JLewis and Boldin for SA and TO. I still have two 1st round picks, so that didn't hurt me. And I have had boldin on my team since he came into the NFL, and wanted a change.
ebartender
Team 1 (2-7) traded Alexander to Team 2 (7-2) for Deshaun Foster. We had a few people upset, but Alexander is hurt and wasn't playing well even when he was healthy. Plus team 1 needed a RB to get him points.
