Carolina Panther win

This team is just continuing to upset me. Yes we got out of there with a win (which I'm always happy for when they actually can win at home, because they don't really do it often), but as Kornholeidiot put it (yes, I actually will quote him) "they had 15 days to prepare for a 2-6 team". I'd like to add "run by a rookie QB".

The score does not actually reflect how close this game was. Without Peppers, I think we lose that game. He was as clutch as he's been all year, and once again, the offense stuttered their way to half time.

We suck at 3rd downs because our running game is the most atrocious in the NFL. Well...close to it anyway.

3rd and long ever single time will ALWAYS kill your momentum, if you even managed to get momentum, and when you go 3 and out every single time, you wear down your defense. And when our DEF is wore down, they end up staying on the field too long and then you have to rotate backups into the mix and then you're giving up even bigger plays.

CAR is always open to the big play. We are constantly giving up 20 yard receptions right over the middle. If Gradkowski doesn't float that ball a little too much on the opening drive (and IMO, it was still catchable) we get burned for a HUGH TD for like 60 yards. He was open like a prom date. BAM. 7-0 and with the fumble it would've been 14-0

DeShaun needs to be benched. Period. the only time he actually has a run of more than 3 yards is usually right after Williams has a run of 6-10 yards. He's a piece of a garbage and completely holding this team back. I'm very tired of being 1-dimensional. I know the O-line is mostly at fault for that, but I'm still sick of it.

Delhomme. I'm as big a fan of Delhomme as anyone can be of their QB. I love his emotion, I love how he plays GREAT when he comes from behind. He's just one of those QBs that plays well when there's "here and now" pressure on him. Like when you're down at the half in the Super Bowl. Like when you've gone 1 and 7 and need to win 7 straight games to have a chance at the playoffs, with a 5th string RB.

However, this team needs stability. Most of his throws are caught due to the sheer athleticism of the receiver.

For instance, the come back route that Steve Smith runs about 6 times a game. All Delhomme does is put the ball on the far shoulder of Smith and Smith sells the route so good, that all he has to do is turn and catch it. Yes, I'm aware that is what good QB/WR duo's are supposed to do, but if a ball needs to be threaded or if it all has to be put on Delhomme's pass and not Smith's route/catch, I can't bank on it. he did have some good passes tonight, and I'm not calling for Weinke here, but I am saying that Delhomme has been inconsistent for way too long and it needs to stop. I will chalk it up to a poor o-line/running game for now, but he's made some really bad decisions this year.

My number one beef is the running game though. We need draw plays on 3rd and 15 to generate any type of running yards and that's only because no one would be expecting it.

When it's time to run out the clock, I feel like snorting AJAX and just putting myself out of the misery of the anticipation. Our Defense wears out way too fast and really starts giving up those long plays in the 4th, so it CRUCIAL to not be punting the ball from our own 10 after a 3 and out. Having to pass on 95% of 3rd downs is going to really take its toll, not to mention, the true championship caliber teams that we could hope to face in the playoffs will have even more game film of us in crucial plays and will learn our tendencies.

They'll also wise up to Hoover for the short game, since we can't give it to DeShank and expect a first.

Like I said, this is a grain of salt post. My Panthers needed a big big showing tonight, and I don't think they came through. They had some nice plays and won the game by a big margin, but only because TB collapsed and Peppers is a god among men. The casual football fan or a fanatic of another team won't see this as anything but a pre-season superbowl darling beating an already much beaten down 2-7 team. A good team beating a bad team.

I needed to see an early lead and a total blowout with Carolina outscoring TB in every quarter to feel great.

It could be alot worse and I'm not getting greedy and not saying TB doesn't get paid also. I just couldn't hold in my thoughts on this anymore. I waited till after the bye week and after a win, so everyone would know I am capable of not being a "blind-ass homer"
