Colts vs. Cowboys

YES! This game will be the defining moment for the Cowboys season. I am concerned about this game with Ellis out. If ever a time we needed veteran pressure and recognition off the edges it is this game. Singleton has the experience but he is no 270 pound, power/speed rusher who can do what Ellis can in the run and pass game.

Manning is dangerous with the twins he has in Wayne and Marvelous Marvin, but if you play them physical they can be stopped. Henry and Newman must punish them for catching the ball and every time they try to get off the line of scrimmage. Roy's presence will make them think twice about the middle of the field. Last few games teams have been playing a deep cover two zone forcing Manning underneath with success. I don't think that is a winning formula because Manning is a rhythm QB and teams have to break it up in order to fluster his timing. Whether it is underneath or deep, Manning can kill you if he gets into his rhythm. Keeping him on the sideline watching a long scoring drive from opposing offenses frustrates the crap out of Manning and he comes back out on the field gripping.

Looking at all the games the Colts have lost there is one formula that is consistent, and that is physical play by the secondary, time of possession and QB hits.

That being said, the Colts have been beggin to get beat for weeks now and I can't think of a better time hand them their first loss.

Romo continues to impress me with his accuracy and poise. He looks off safety, then fires bullets that are on the money and where only his player can make a play on it. 3 games on the road and the guy throws 1 pick. At home, I can't see the Colts slowing him or our running game down in this one.

I am so looking forward to this game. We can absolutely win this game if we control the penalties on offense and defense and don't beat ourselves.

If the Cowboys play penalty free football and win the turnover battle the Colts CAN'T win this game!

i would also mention a decent 3-4 front that can mask its coverages and frustrate Peyton's passing lanes.

and add a heavy dose of Julius and Barber vs a D allowing 5.1ypc.

i like the Cowboys' chances this week too.

I really don't believe the Colts can score that many points on our D especially if we stop the run which have been doing all season.

:D

Then you my friend are a delusional Cowboys fan...there isn't a team around the Colts can't score 31 against...

I agree ... I mean, they put up 27 points against the 3rd ranked rush D of New England ... and then there was 34 points against the 5th ranked rush D of Denver (4th at the time I believe) ... and 26 against the healthy NYG rush D at the beginning of the year ... a good rush D can really deflate the offense of Indy

Yea that heavy dose of JJ worked real well against the redskins. Barber a different story, but if you are relying on JJ you are in a world of trouble.

Yes but all three are weak against the pass. New England 23rd against the pass, Denver 27th and the Giants 14th. New England gave up 5 turnovers in their game (4 picks and 1 fumble) which is a sure way to giving up points to Manning.

Dallas is 4th and 9th which is much more balanced the any of the teams you mentioned. The Dallas D is sound although they are suspect to the big play which is scary. I still believe they play solid against the Colts this week.

the Skins allow under 4ypc and won on a fluke blocked FG/untimed down FG on the road. and?

i'm just saying it's not a complete mismatch like some might suggest.

Dallas hasn't played too many teams with "elite" QB's this year. The one game they did, they pretty much shut down the run and opposing QB shredded the Dallas D ... granted it was on the road, but I think Dallas knew what they were in for in this game ... here it is

it's hard not to point directly at Bledsoe's 4 turnovers as the major contributing factor allowing PHI to stay in the game and eventually pull off the win.

i wouldn't go far as to say Romo would've avoided all of those mistakes but you can certainly argue that Romo would be less likely to turn it over like Bledsoe. looking forward to the game fo' sho'.

I would agree, as I stated before turnovers are a sure way to get points scored against you and Bledsoe gave Philly 3 more opportunities then the otherwise would have had to earn.

They struggled against Buffalo and Tennesse so why not against the Cowboys, on the road, with a better record, corners and a more intimidating saftey?

Romo is better then both Young and Losman and Dallas is much better on defense then the Bills or Titans.

Confident that we can play as good on both sides of the ball, if not better then the Bill and Titans.....YES.

Delusional..........I think not.

After the Boys manhandle the Colts, all nay sayers will be talking them up as the favorite in the NFC. I think that the Boys match up real well against the Colts. Defensively, they will have to match-up with the TE's, Clark and Utecht and our safety coverage scares me a little. However, even without Ellis, I think they will be applying pressure all day to Manning. Can't wait til Sunday.
