Trade Offer: Larry Fitzgerald for Kirk Morrison

Recommended Posts

My friend has offered me this trade. My lineup is in my signature, starters in bold. The primary decision here is if I'm willing to go the remainder of the season with Brandon Moore as the replacement AND if we think Kirk Morrison could garner something better. Be aware that this friend also reads this forum (not religiously).

Other important information: I currently have the 2nd best record in my league at 8-2. My next 3 matchups are against the 1,3 & 4th best records in our league. The reality of it is that the 4th best record is probably the first or second best lineup in our league now (I think - perhaps biased, but probably not, that I am the other team with best lineup)

The team I'm considering this trade with is on the outside looking in. He needs to win out, and probably have some other things go his way. Schedule-wise, it is soft enough for him to win out. Power Rankings wise, he plays the 11th best team (12 team league), 9th best team, and 6th best team over the next 3 games. He's ranked 7th.

His lineup:

Kitna, Garrard

Gore, Henry, Anthony Thomas, Jerome Harrison, Lendale White

Torry Holt, Reggie Wayne, Larry Fitzgerald, Deion Branch, Chris Henry

Brooking, London Fletcher-Baker, Daryl Smith, Karlos Dansby

Schweigart

Starting Lineups. With regards to wrs, rbs & te's, we can start any legal nfl lineup. Starting 3 RBs is the most formidable lineup in my league, so I only need 2 WRs considering my RB lineup.

Here are the questions:

Is an injured Fitzgerald worth the risk of owning over my other suboptimal receivers?

Do you think that I should be able to garner better than Fitzgerald in this deal (Holt or Wayne)?

If I required him to throw in "the ghost" does that make a difference at all? (Jerome Harrison)

Kirk Morrison is in the top ten in your league in LBer scoring. Fletcher should be #1. Morrison is probably scoring better than every receiver in the league except for say the top 6. I would have to have more than Fitzgerald to give away Morrison. That doesn't even take into consideration the tweak in the hammy from last week.

I offer him Barnett and he should feel lucky I did that. Because, unfortunately for him....Morrison is gonna command a Reggie Wayne from his roster.

The thing that definately resonates in my mind is that by accepting Fitz, I carry all the risks (Fitz and Moore/Quarles), and he gains all.

Another thought, how do LBs do against KC and SD? Morrison plays KC twice and SD once (including both the next two weeks - then KC in week 16).

Edit: nevermind, those have to be great games for him. Between LT2 and Turner, there's prolly gonna be a lot to go round...

Our league scores way differently than yours!!! In our league....Wayne is one slot ahead of Owens...and Morrison is like 5th. Interesting how scoring systems can make player values differ so much.

10. 42. Harrison, Marvin IND WR 151 20 19 15 14 11 B 26 8 34 4 Lookin' Down 6

In my league, Lbers are almost just as important as WRs. I hesitate on Wayne only because he has a 43 point week thrown in there with a lot of mediocre efforts. He has three weeks with 19 or more points...and I am a PPR league. Whereas a guy like Morrison in our league can get huge points for turnovers....10 for INT's and 7 for a sack(5for the actual sack and 2 for the tackle). 5 points for fumble recoveries. We get 1/10 return yards for touchdowns. So I think our scoring rewards big play LBers more than your scoring maybe. Oh yeah, 2 pts for a tackle and 1 per assist.
