gilthorp
College buds....one is fighting for #1 seed, the other is middle of the pack. The middle of the pack team has this going this week. RussMan
In the spirit of fairness to the league I think you have to tell him to play his best lineup.... Otherwise its collusion which should not be allowed.... Pittman over Paker.... that just TOO obvious. Either ask him to change the lineup or change it for him. MikesVikes
He should've played Toomer. What's up with that? There's no place for teams tanking a matchup to help a buddie out, imo.
jaxfactor
I'd at least send him an e-mail letting him know how I feel about it. Other than that, really nothing more you can do. Any chance he changes his lineup last minute?
theeohiostate
We have a rule in our league that the commish has the power to set a line up , if it's obvious a team is doing something like the owner in your league. I'd give him a notice and tell him that , this type of behavior will not be tolerated.

Any chance he changes his lineup last minute? I misunderstood your post. I thought all of you were college buds. But those 2 guys are college buds. Yep. Definately collusion. Get in touch with both and tell them that, then change his lineup for him.

Big John
That is obvious collusion, but your rules apparently don't address that so I don't think you can do anything about it except try to convince him or the rest of the league to agree to a change. loaf
you can't change the lineup. league-wide email calling him out and saying things will be different next season.
theeohiostate
you can't change the lineup. league-wide email calling him out and saying things will be different next season. I disagree. It's obvious collusion. As commish, I'd give him a warning about setting the line up, if he refuses, under the pretence of "collusion", I'd ban him from the league and set him best availble line up for the remainder of the season. Tally
You need to publicly call them both out, embarrass them and threaten to leave the league and make sure the rest of the league knows what’s going on. Of course you should make an attempt to contact the owner and commissioner before doing all this but if no luck I would raise some serious hell over this and I would make good on my threat of leaving. Why would anyone want to play with owners like this anyway? This isn't right and you can't stand for it.

BJ, while I agree there a many things a commish shouldn't do if not spelled out in the rules specifically. This one I think is a no brainer even if not addressed in the league rules. The commish should have the power to ban an owner from the league for cheating, imo. In the event of him being banned, I'd ask the rest of the owners on how to determine his line up. Savage Beatings
Cheating is cheating. Whether you can anticipate and spell out every form of cheating in the rules or not, it should never be tolerated.
rcswildcat
This has happened in my league and i set the guys lineup, kicked him out for the year, and he was not asked back. League apprecaited it because it was a similar situation and would have made a playoff contender gain a game on one of two teams. just wouldnt have been fair. Azazello1313
send an email/phone call to him asking him to protect the integrity of the league and change it. if he doesn't, send a league-wide email just telling everybody the lineup he submitted, the guys on his bench, reminding them of his relationship with the other guy. maybe you get up enough steam for a league vote to boot the guy before next year. gilthorp
I'm going to get the lineup changed. I'm not going to call him out in front of everyone, but have handled it off line, one on one and made it explicit that this will not be tolerated. theeohiostate
It's issues like these that have lead me away from public leagues and into Huddle BOTH leagues. At least if a similar situation arose in a BOTH league, we could humiliate them here. I trust the majority of Huddlers in all my leagues to stay competitve and active throughout the season and it's the sole reason, I will be exclusively doing BOTH from this year forward. I'd do everything possible to call the two teams out before banning the owner though. agreed. calls were made with no answer. but this wasnt the first time some fishy business had went on. if a guy does this once, whats to say something similar wont happen down the line, whether it be a trade, lineup or a mysterious drop.
