spain
The NFL East was predicted to be one of the toughest divisions this year. The Giants, Cowboys, Eagles, and Redskins all looked to be improved from last year. But half way through the season 3 of the 4 teams have essentially mailed it in with the last one clinging to life. Lets take a look; 1. Washington Redskins: After todays loss to the horrific Bucs, the Deadskins have compiled a 3-7 record and appear to be spiraling out of control. The offense is terrible and they finally benched the fossilized Mark Brunnell. Jason Campbell aint ready for prime time either. The defense sucks too. The team has already quit, as will Joe Gibbs the first week of January. 2. Philadelphia Eagles: Wow! This team started the season like a house afire. McNabb was promanently mentioned as an MVP candidate a few weeks ago. Well, now they have fallen to 5-5 after a crushing defeat to the Titans at home. And now McNabb is out for the year and an effiminent butt pirate takes over the reins. This team has some real struggles ahead as they have disentegrated before our very eyes. 3. Dallas Cowboys: Bill Parcells has aged about 50 years this season as he watched the biggest white stiff since Will Perdue in qB Drew Bledsoe lead them over a cliff. Like the Deadskins, they held on to an aging QB way too long before making the switch to a younger more mobile player. But something is missing with this squad and it has nothing to do with the QB. This team is average at best and doesnt have the heart to make a run. This team has 8-8 written all over it. 4. New York Giants: One question that we had answered for is this season: Eli dam sure aint Peyton yet. Injuries and decimated this team and their prospects for the 2nd half of the season have been severely compromised. Sure, they will win the division simply because the other teams suck. But this wont be your SB contender from the NFC. This is a one and done in the playoffs type squad.

alwaysrocking
Actually the whole nfc other than the bears is pretty weak. It amazing my packers as slim as it may be are still very much in the playoff race at 4 and 6. Retrograde assault
Ton of super bowl champs have come from this division and there will be more, just maybe not this season.

Grits and Shins
I agree that Parcells isn't the coach of old. This Dallas team should be at least 8-2 / 9-1 now instead of 6-4. Parcells gives all the appearance of being old and tired and simply going through the motions. The Cowboys lead the league in penalties and before the benching of Romo simply could not put teams away. Having said that ... I don't think they will lose 4 more games this season. FishFreak
The NFC East is crumbling primarily due to injury. Everyone outside of the Boys have lost key players. You should be proud of your Titans though Spain. They are certainly coming along led by a rookie QB who everyone thought was a project and the "least ready" to play. I'm assuming you're over Volek by now right?
Kansas State 2000
If the Dallas Cowboys finish better than 8-8 Spain will leave TheHuddle forever.

LooGie
I actually didn't think NFC EAST would be the toughest division..I thought the NFC South would be. I knew that getting Brees (providing he was healthy of course) and the most dynamic, prolific blah blah Reggie Bush would instantly give the Saints credibility. (Of course, I had no idea Colston would actually be giving the credibility and not Bush though). Of course, I had no idea the Bucs would take their place. I did think the AFC WEST would be tough, if not the toughest, but I expected OAK to take 3rd place and KC to finish up 4th under Herm with a very pathetic showing. But Herm is somehow pulling it out, and DEN and SD would be the toughest division with just the 2 of them in it, much less with KC in there as well. kraftykraft
Right now the AFC West looks like the best division. The NFC East has a lot of inury problems. After two season-endng injuries in back-to-back years, McNabb is now going to get one of those "injury prone" tags that fantasy owners love so much. I think that the NFC right now is the Bears and that is about it. Nobody else is playing with any level of consistency. The Cowboys might turn it around if Romo keeps playing well, but considering he has only started 4 game I am in wait-and-see mode on that. But the NFC is so equally matched that teams are beating the hell out of each other and keeping the records mediocre. I knew this would happen especially in the NFC WEST AND SOUTH. I didn't think a wild card had any chance from those divisions because they would bang the hell out of each other all year and their records would show it. The NFC has been very consistent, meaning, you can't go out and consistently win unless you always bring your A game, because the other team is a good consistent team too. spain
Well the 2nd place team in the NFC least just beat the best team in the AFC My Tennessee Titans have 3 wins this year. 2 of those are against NFC East teams. I wish they could play in that weak ass division...
Randall
The NFL East was predicted to be one of the toughest divisions this year. It was? I also heard the NFC South and AFC West were as tough or tougher divisions. At the start of the season TB, Carolina, Atlanta and New Orleans looked very competetive. And in the west only Oakland wasn't. The east is just where the press is centered.

LooGie
If my Saints are contending that leads me to believe the NFC South isn't very strong. look, i know it's been years of getting beat down with a world of talent on your team, but have a little faith and have a little love. The beginning of the season people would've been happy with an 8-8 record..now they seem like "oh well, at least we'll get that 8-8 record". Damn the pre-season. You guys have a real shot to not only win the division, but make some serious noise in the playoffs..so show some love and knock off the sad-fan routine. You guys are 6-4 still have some games that I wish the Panthers had.
