kpholmes
holy whats the NFL record for most passing yards? Not 510. I remember afew season ago when Colts and Packers (I think) played, and both QBs had 500+ yards.
montster
just looked it up. i was curious, too. Most yards gained, game—554, Norm Van Brocklin, Los Angeles, 1951. i had no idea brees passed for that many either.

mitpdub
Great fantasy stat, but I wonder what percentage of QB's that threw over 500 yards in history actually won the game?

Scare Tactics
Played him in the MVP +1 33.50pts I actually watched the game too.. He could've done alot more as crazy as it sounds, but he threw 2 Int's in the end zone, on 2 passes he tried to force in.
Bier Meister
i remember watching warren moon rack up a 500+ yard game....he was awefullly close to the record... and quite a few penalties in that game negated a lot of potential passing yards. Bill Swerski
How does somebody throw for 510 yds and only put up 16 offensive points?
DMD
How does somebody throw for 510 yds and only put up 16 offensive points? psssst.... three interceptions....
CowboysDiehard
Of course he had 510 yards. I made the mistake of talking smack in the league where I was playing the guy who had Brees. It never fails.
Chavez
I remember afew season ago when Colts and Packers (I think) played, and both QBs had 500+ yards. Neither Manning (393, 5 tds) nor Favre (360 yds, 4 tds) surpassed even 400 yds.
MustOfBeenDrunk
with mcnabb out for the rest of the season Drew has a good chance of finishing as top QB this year
Chavez
Great fantasy stat, but I wonder what percentage of QB's that threw over 500 yards in history actually won the game? Norm Van Brocklin threw for 554 yds and the Rams beat the Yanks 54-14. YA Tittle threw for 505 yds and the Giants beat the Skins 49--34 Vince Ferragamo threw for 509 yds and the Rams lost to Chicago 26-34 Phil Simms threw for 513 yds and the Giants lost 30-35 to the Bengals Dan Marino threw for 521 yds and the Dolphins lost 34-38 to the Jets Warren Moon threw for 527 yds and the Oilers beat the Chiefs 27-10 Boomer Esiason threw for 522 yds and the Cardinals beat Washington 37-34 Elvis Grbac threw for 504 yds and KC lost 31-49 to Oakland. That's a 4-4 record when throwing for 500+ yds. Well, 4-5 now.
jaxfactor
Played him in the MVP I was going to play him in the MVP, but I changed it to Palmer. Not a hugh mistake though. Only a 7.75 point difference.

muck
...and Brees tosse 510yds without his #1 WR... Didn't Harrington have 410 yards a few weeks ago with 2 TDs and only score 31 pts? How come Brees only earned 2 more pts today? Negative points for INTs? Brees tossed 3 of them yesterday...

Imagine what it would be if Henderson hadn't had those 3 big drops and Copper hadn't had that fumble as well. I think he could have had a serious shot at breaking that record. Jimmy Neutron
I had to add a line to the QB scoring system in one of my leagues. It's been a long time since anyone threw for 500+ yards.
BeeR
Of the many players I misjudged FF wise this year, Brees might be the worst. Between injury recovery, new team, iffy WR situation etc etc, I figured on a very up n down season at best. oops.
