alwaysrocking
I am just wondereing who has the nfl network on the cable and or satelite. I do as i have direct tv. If i had the local cable time warner I wouldn't even be able to watch the thursday night games. If you are a real football fan and have a cable company that does not have the nfl network yet I would drop that cable company in a second and get sattelite and be sure to let them know why you are leaving cable overcharges anyway. That's a huge run on sentence....but I have satelite and I get NFL network. That's quite a redundancy but I have cable and no NFL Network Edit: You cheated Edited November 20, 2006 by Puddy
hezagenius
That's the main reason I got satellite a few months ago. Eight games is nice and it isn't any more expensive than cable not to mention the picture is way better and if you want HiDef, there is no reason to get cable. Satellite HD blows it out of the water in terms of quality and number of channels.

CowboysDiehard
Yeah, they should be on channel 93 if you have the HD package--the information is available on the DirecTV site. edit: Only the games, though...nfl replay and such is not in HD so far as I can tell. alwaysrocking
You know I alway hear people say crap like well my picture will go out when there is bad weather. That rarely happens to me and even when it does it is for a very short period of time and yes sattelite has a much better picture. I have nfl sunday ticket as well and I can't get that on cable. I also watch college football and twice this year my team was on espnu and what do you know time warner cable doesn't have that channel either but my satellite does. Cable is a joke. CD6405
Satelite only goes out when it is like a monsoon outside. I don't understand why people use that argument either.

hezagenius
If it goes out a lot, it is probably installed poorly. Call your provider and tell them to get their a$$ out and fix it! I have mine about 5 months and it's gone out once for about 5 minutes during a hail storm.

I have Cox Cable out here, and I couldn't love them anymore than I do. I'm a computer tech, and their tech support for their Cable customers is perfect. their internet never goes down, its pretty cheap and they're always upgrading their customers to faster speeds for free. I couldn't use anyone else for internet IMO..and their TV service is "good enough". I just can't see myself paying so much more just to have the option to pay even more for NFL Sunday Ticket. Cox's tv service covers what I need, and I use *cough*StreamTV*cough* for my NFL needs...
JoJoTheWebToedBoy
NFL Network on DirecTV. I still find it odd that the NFL would move some of it's games to the NFL network. I wouldn't think that the NFL Network is in that many homes....
The Next Generation
During the senate hearings this past week into the possible NFL anti-trust violation for broadcasting their games on the NFL Network I could have sworn they said they would also be available on regular TV? But, that may only be in the local markets for the teams playing.

Yes, in theory they should be the same. However, there is less degradation in the signal with satellite. The satellite signal does not travel through cable lines except from the dish to the tv. Cable signals travel primarily through cable lines and encounter resistance the entire way. This resistance degrades the signal. That is why the picture is better. The difference can vary from region to region and distance from the origination of the signal to your home. I have an HDTV and recently switched from cable HD to satellite HD service and the difference is night and day.
Skippy
Local markets are still going to get the games. I have NFL Network as part of my cable plan here in Pittsburgh. I think I had to have the digital package that is above the standard package to have it but I had that anyway.
