what really puzzles me..is how the guy, especially on the last play, is throwing out this half azz quasi play action fakes when the back isnt even faking taking the handoff....its just wasted motion

I noticed that too and thought the same thing! He did it at least twice on that last drive - there was NO WAY they were running the ball so what was the point!?!?

Plummer is what he has always been - an erratic QB with some very good physical skills who can't be counted on to do anything other than be average. That Shanahan relied on him so much in the 2nd half when the running game was gashing SD is beyond my comprehension.

The better team won the game yesterday, and Shanahan was outcoached by Schottenheimer. DEN is in some trouble with games at KC & SD in 2 of the next 3 weeks.

I have no idea why Shanahan wasn't running bootlegs with Plummer in the second half (especially with Merriman out). That's where he's most effective. It seems that most of the pass plays called were standard three- and five-step drop-backs.

EXACTLY! That was the game right there. No bootlegs, no rollouts. Only Plummer trying to throw from the pocket, which he stinks at. And it's not even all his fault: the line just can't pass protect for a pocket quarterback--they are too undersized. Shanahan got outcoached in this one because he didn't make any adjustments to his already crappy gameplan.

Credit to San Diego and their O-line: Tomlinson was barely touched the whole game.

Memo to Shanny: have you noticed that you are still not getting any sacks on the qb, just like last year? Might be time to start bringing more than 4 pass rushers.

Jeez that game made me :D:D
