Cunning Runt
I've got both Maurice Jones-Drew and Fred Taylor and I play one or the other each week as my #2 to go with LT. Seems like I play the wrong one each and every week. And let me tell you - it's frustrating. This week it was emphasized big time. Taylor rushed for over 100yds but that's it. Jones snags two TDs and was very active in the passing game outscoring Freddie by about 17 fantasy points. Is there something I need to be looking at when deciding which one to play in terms of matchups, or whatever? Is it really just a crapshoot? Why not, they got 216 yards and a TD between them today.
ts
Who's your #1? Maybe you should play both of them. Why not, they got 216 yards and a TD between them today. His #1 is LT. As to the original question, I'd use MJD until further notice ... the guy seems to do more FF-wise with less opportunities almost every week. Slugs
I have the same problem, but I have just adopted the Drew-jones approach. He scores two many TDs to not start him.
sdjeff
No question that MJD has the most upside and I would play him over Fred. He is more exsplosive and continues to get the goal line touches. I'm a Fred owner and wish I had MJD.
Cosmo-J
I have both MJD and Fred in one league... I've started them both at the same time once and it worked well. MJD hits the hole hard (opposed to Fred's dancing around), is fast, and I've noticed that they use him on third down quite a bit and almost always use him inside the Red Zone - he was in for all 3 plays today when the Jags had it at the 1 yd line. MJD has 8 TD's to Fred's 4 and although Fred has about double the yardage, they've been pretty equal the last several weeks. They go to MJD more for screens. So, all that being said, I think going with MJD is the better bet, especially since I'm sure that Del Rio wants to keep Fred's legs fresher for their playoff stretch. I also have Ronnie Brown so I might have to lean on starting them both again, especially with my (hopeful) playoff run. But if I had to choose between the two, I'd Jones-Drew... He gets better looks and makes the most of the opportunities he's given and wil sqeeze out a few more points for you..
Wolv
Freddie is to JJ as MJD is to MB3
BeeR
You start Drew. He catches. And scores.
ajsdad
i traded EDGE away for both freddy snd mo drew. I start them both every week, snd its been working. Mo drew catches enough passes and scores to warrant it
Scorcher
I have always played Drew as my no.3 flex and he has never let me down. He always does better than Taylor in less carries and less time.
Cunning Runt
I have always played Drew as my no.3 flex and he has never let me down. He always does better than Taylor in less carries and less time. I hear you, except the problem is that he doesn't "always" do better than Taylor. I did a check and Taylor has outscored Jones-Drew 5 times, Jones-Drew has outscored Taylor 5 times and they tied once. On the season Taylor has 137 fantasy points and Jones-Drew 108 (these do not include yesterday). I will say that the first two weeks of the season they were not using Jones-Drew (2 fantasy points pts total these two weeks where as Taylor had 37). Subtract out the two weeks where they were not using him and the total, including this week is Taylor 110 compared to Jones-Drew 132. If a big game is gonna materialize, it's likely gonna be Jones-Drew Looks like Jones-Drew it is. But I just have this suspicion that as soon as I plug him in, it's gonna end up being Taylor getting the love. We shall see.
gd74
There is no way to figure it out....its the same thing with JJ and MB in Dallas.... Fred gets the carries from 20 to 20 and MJD gets some 3rd downs and the redzone touches... So the best would be to play the guy in the redzone....this whole thing kills me because I have JJ and FT !!!!!
