Bill Swerski
Al Michaels announced that Ricky Proehl may be headed to Indy. I like this move, given that Stokley is never healthy anymore. Clark is effective in the slot, but he doesn't have Proehl's hands or route-running skills. And speaking of Clark, I hope that he's OK. Given that he walked off the field on his own power, I'm assuming that it's more likely a bone bruise to the knee than a tear or high-grade ligament sprain. HowboutthemCowboys
as a Wayne owner, allow me to be the first one to say i think this deal sucks. I like it better with Wayne and Marvin being the only two wr's on the field.
LooGie
Proehl has a weekly spot on Sirius, and this has been in the works since week1. Tim Ryan first threw it out there, and Proehl fessed up. But he said he was just waiting for Indy to make with the "right offer" and then he said he's about to retire, and he aint going to a losing team, and they're gonna have to pay him a perty penny... he don't need the work, he wants a ring, and wants major cash. The Colts run two-TE sets when they don't use a slot receiver.
BeeR
Clark is effective in the slot, Yeah he's been tearing it up - not Love getting Proehl and amazed Polian is making FA moves (!) - although I wish this move had come a few years earlier. Hope he has enough gas in the tank to stick around for awhile. Now if only we had a defense.......
CaptainHook
may need him, since Dallas knee injury could be serious. MRI tomorrow. . .
Bill Swerski
Yeah he's been tearing it up - not Being "effective" and "tearing it up" are not the same thing. But if you want to believe that Clark sucks in the slot, you have the right to be incorrect.
CaptainHook
I think this is a good signing.
Bill Swerski
Agreed. Proehl is older than dirt, but he's a very smart and talented possession receiver and I think that he'll do well in the slot in Indy. At the very least, he's a heck of a lot more durable than Stokley. As for Clark, I'm really hoping that it's just a low- or medium-grade sprain that'll keep him out for a few weeks. The fact that he walked off the field without any help suggests that it's probably not a tear.
CaptainHook
they did say sprain. but the way he acted, and the way the player's around him acted, I have a feeling it's bad.

CaptainHook
local television station is reporting that Dallas Clark's family told them he tore his ACL. No confirmation from the Colts yet.

No confirmation from the Colts yet. That really sucks. Good thing that Utect and Fletcher are healthy. Looks like we'll see many more 3-WR sets from now on. CaptainHook
Utecht, Fletcher, Proehl?? Fletcher took over for Clark in the slot against the Eagles. Proehl and Stokley would see time as well. That is, if Brandon ever gets healthy.
