Hello David Kircus...

With Cutler stepping into the starting QB gig, does this bump up the value of Kircus for the next few games...? Who has been the practicing WR with Cutler? Ya know how when a new QB takes over, a new WR sees increased action and that's usually the WR that's been practicing with him. Thoughts?

Kircus & Scheffler were favorite targets of Cutler in preseason - and Cutler has enough arm to reach Kircus on deep routes and Scheffler on deep out patterns.

It'll be interesting to watch the pecking order develop with the receivers in DEN.

But Scheffler has to play first! What the hell is Shanny doing?

I think Cutler will give a real boost in production to DEN's TE position... whoever it may be.

My thought is that David Kircus comes from one of west Michigan's Top-10 institutions of higher learning. :D

there's 10? :D

cutler has a lot of rapport with brandon marshall as well, coming in together as rooks and everything. and marshall is more likely to see balls thrown his way than kircus at this point, IMO.

but heck with those guys #3, #4 guys anyway, i'm just wondering if cutler makes rod smith a startable fantasy WR again.

3) Kircus ain't that good

Your opinion of him is biased because he played for the Lions and nobody who plays for the Lions is ever any good (Barry Sanders excluded).

Kircus does have the NCAA all-division record for touchdowns in a single-season (and he also has the #2 ranking on that list as well). You can't get those records by being bad.

2 words: 1) Archie 2) Griffin

Three things come to mind in assessing Kircus' value:

1) Rookie QB

2) #3 WR

3) Kircus ain't that good

Something that also comes to mind when assessing Kircus' potential:

Shanahan took a lanky white WR who had been a complete bust with 2 other teams and turned him into a WR who progressively got better until he turned in 3 consecutive 1000+ yd seasons: Ed McCaffrey.

During preseason (I know, I know, it's only preseason) Cutler definitely established some very strong mojo with Kircus. There is something to be said for a WR when a QB, especially a young QB, finds a WR that he trusts.

I'm not saying Kircus is going to start turning in 100 yd games. I do think he has the potential & ability to be a factor in the DEN O as long as Cutler is the QB. The same goes for Scheffler, if he is activated. Scheffler is also Cutler's roomie on the road, for some additional useless info.

All true. But we're just talking about the next "few games."

And I'm still trying to figure out the white part though. :D

Come on though, Ed McCaffrey had some black in him. Kircus does not.

Who knew Michael Irvin posted here... :D

Edit: And from what I saw, Kircus is more of a deep threat, whereas guys like Easy Ed, Stokley and Curtis are more slot-type, quick slant pattern WRs. :D
