Rockerbraves
yep......don't think Florida would even put up much a fight against the Bucks. Can't see any possible way that offense would hang with Smith. I'd rather have us face Florida just for that fact, but i'd regret not taking down Michigan again either..................it's a win,win situation for us Bucks fans. Till kickoff that is. Flip_Side
by that warped logic, the Ivy League champion should be ranked higher/get a better bowl bid than the second-place team in any other conference As I said above, the announcers suck. Michigan will NOT beat OSU even in a rematch. There's no point to letting them play again, let the Gators get the shot they deserve.
untateve
As with the usc-ucla game, I am quite pleased with the end result. Clearly a playoff is necessary. If Florida plays OSU, then Michigan certainly is on solid ground in feeling screwed. Same thing if Michigan plays OSU. In defense of Florida, I feel they played a tougher schedule, beating more ranked teams than Michigan. While our offense does not win any style points, our defense does. Remember, LSU, the likely 4th ranked BCS team did not score an offensive TD against Florida (neither did Auburn). As I also attempt to make a case for Florida, Michigan finished 2nd in their conference. Florida is the SEC Champion. No matter how it turns out, I'm pleased with this season. Urban Meyer is clearly bringing Florida back. He is going to have a field day recruiting in the state of Florida, given that fsu and miami are clearly in a down cycle. Next year, the Gators will have a QB in place who fits in well with the spread offense. All in all, I'd rather win 12 close games and only lose 1, rather than win 9 or 10 games with style and lose 2-3.

GWPFFL BrianW
After watching today, I feel Florida deserves a crack at Ohio State. I don't think Fla has a hope in hell of beating O$U, but you nailed it... they are conference champions, and I feel they've done enough (more than USC) to warrant being there. Either team will have a beef though.
Rockerbraves
Would be a crime to leave Florida out of the NC game especially if they lose out to a team that not already lost to the other team playing in that NC game, but of all things from the same conference which isn't even the #1 conference. The announcers had it right. Gators earned their place every bit if not more than Ohio State.

'canes2004
Michigan didn't even win it's conference, why should should they get a shot at a NC? Florida won the SEC which is hands down the toughest conference in the country. They deserve their shot even if OSU thinks they'll get blown out by 50. GWPFFL BrianW
A conference which has proven just as much as the Big Ten has. BTW, Strength of schedule... Florida is #1, guess whose #3? Michigan. Apples to apples. The "strength of schedule" argument is officially null and void. Florida gets my nod because they are a conference champion, but they are not the 2nd best team. Florida should get absolutely wrecked by Ohio State by 14+.

It'd be especially ironic if the SEC got left out outta the NC game again, given that Kramer and the SEC came up with this system in the first place. This is going to be reeeallly interesting tomorrow. Whoever get left out will find it hard to get up for their bowl game, which'll be unfortunate. I'd like to see how OSU matches up against the best of the SEC, but if it's the Wolvies again, that'll be sweet too. Sittin' in the club-house is a nice feeling in any case. FLA's defense is one of the quickest in the country and guaranteed OSU will have their hands full. Most everyone here is a big time sports fan so you should know that just because you think a team should win easily doesn't necessarily make it so. GWPFFL BrianW
Urban Meyer won't have the luxury of burning 3 time outs in the third quarter, and still winning vs a team like Ohio State. Tressell will eat Meyer for lunch.

Tressell will eat Meyer for lunch. That might be the difference in the game. I was shocked at Meyer's decision to go for the fake punt from their own 15 or so with 6:30 left in the 3rd. It worked, but still a pretty stoopid move IMO. Risk-reward didn't warrant it.

SaintsFanUnfortunately
Sure , i agree Florida deserves it as much as OSU. The Big 10 sucks, having only 3 teams in the top ten. Yep and Ohio St. beat one of them Michigan, they did not play Wisconsin. The SEC has 3 teams in the top 10 as well and Florida beat both of them, LSU and Arkansas. Florida has the #1 toughest SOS in the country, is a 12-1 conference champion, and actually won their last game in this "quasi playoff" system we call the BCS. Why should Ohio St. have to beat Michigan twice back to back, makes no sense at all. Michigan had their shot, it is now Florida's turn. Glabra
Nobody (except Sgt Ryan) can say for sure which team is better. I say let there be a Lingerie Bowl type play-in game between the teams' cheerleaders to decide it.
