They way the Bowls should be

NC Game - OSU vs Michigan

Rose Bowl - SC vs Wisconsin

Orange Bowl - Wake Forest vs Auburn

Sugar Bowl - Florida vs Louisville

Fiesta Bowl - OU vs Boise St.

Auburn beat LSU, and was the only team to beat FLA, they proved more than LSU they belong in the top 5.

And Wisconsin is more deserving than Notre Dame without question, but the BCS wont allow 3 teams from the same conference, even if those 3 teams are all ranked in the top 5, like OSU, Michigan and Wisconsin.

The BCS rules won't allow it.

Right, thus this post, the way the Bowls should be. Notre Dame and LSU are going to BCS bowl games, even though neither deserve it, and if it wasnt for that rule and the fact Notre Dame travels well, Wisconsin would be in a BCS bowl, and Auburn should be over LSu due to head to head win, with same records, and Auburn is the only team to beat the SEC Champ Fla, who also beat LSU.

Notre Dame will get in for the tv ratings. They don't travel any better than some of the heavy hitters like Ohio State, Michigan, or even Wisconsin and Iowa out of the midwest, and certainly not as well as Nebraska and most of the heavy hitters from the SEC. For them it's about the tv ratings. They definatetly don't deserve to be anywhere close to a BCS Bowl based on merits. They are STILL living off the close call to USC LAST year. The greatest coach on earth has only 1 win vs a ranked opponent in 2 years.

Transitive comparisons like this can go in circles. Auburn is vastly over-rated and doesn't deserve to be anywhere near the BCS. And Wisconsin just smells like a fraud to me.

Wisconsin shoulda lost to Iowa, but I like the make up of their team. PJ Hill is the next in the long line of college studs (I said college lol) at Wisconsin. Stocco is a terrific QB that will go out there and not be a liability like so many qb's are nowadays (see zac taylor and reggie ball) and their defense is pretty good. Wisconsin will likely be playing Arkansas, and I don't see them losing that game at all.

If Auburn is over-rated, what does that make LSU, who lost to Auburn, and Auburn is the only team to beat Fla, when LSU failed to do that. Throw in the fact Auburn and LSU both have the same record, why would LSU be ranked higher.

I don't know. Maybe for the same reason why you feel Ok should be ranked higher than say the Oregon Ducks. :D

I'm not making a case for LSU. I think Arkansas is the second most deserving SEC team.

As for your comparisons, my firm belief is that , 'Who beat who' cannot be used as the only criterion in ranking teams, otherwise you'll just keep trying to catch your tail. You have to look at the body of work over the season. Auburn beat LSU in an ugly 7-6 game, early on in the season with what some thought to be a questionable call at the end. They beat Florida, yes, without an offensive TD. They also were taken to the woodshed by Arkansas at home, lost to lowly Georgia, and were taken to the wire by South Carolina.

I've seen them play and there's nothing special or BCS-worthy about that team.

Teams have to play well over the course of the entire season. Beating the SEC champs is impressive, but week-by-week consistency is more important.

I'd love to see the Louisville-Florida match up. Still don't think Boise St belongs in the BCS bowls, i'd have LSU against OU there. The Wake-Auburn game would get about 2500 viewers, the other 25K would be at the game.
