sacosud
Tress should have sacked up and voted for Michigan. I have to say I'm glad we are not playing the Wolverines even though I still think they are clearly the # 2 team in the country. Florida is deserving enough and makes the rest of the country happy, but the new argument will be if OSU does prevail in Glendale would it be said that the Bucks won, but did they play the best team??? IF the bucks handle the Gators can't see anyone complaining. Now if the Gators handle Ohio State you might have a few people complaining. Rockerbraves
Bring on them Tators. The thing about the SEC onlike the Big Ten there are probably 8 teams capable of beating Ohio State.
Sgt. Ryan
OSU runs away with the title if Fla gets in. If Michigan gets in, they are the National Champs. You think maybe the BCS doesnt want a win by each Big-10 team, and the clusterOprah that might cause. That is why FLA is going to get in the game, as undeserving as they are. Sarge, I know you know your college ball. You know as well as I do that FLA deserves a shot at OSU. USC could of if they beat unranked UCLA. Mich had their shot at OSU and lost. Next. There is ONE and ONLY one reason Florida got the call, people see OSU and Michigan play every year. Very simple explanation that has little to do with who is better in the voters eyes. Hey, I can buy into that. I can also buy into OSU not being the best in the country. Personally I believe they are but polls and voting really do not mean squat. Hashing it out on the field is how it should be done. Just because Mich lost to OSU doesn't make them the 2nd best team in the country either. Face it, the Big Ten is perceived as a weak conference other than 3 maybe 4 teams. You have the number 1 team in the country and will probably win your 2nd NC in recent years but for most of us that live in other regions and watch college football, we view the Big Ten as a weak conference and finishing 2nd in your own conference doesn't give you the right to play for a NC. The voters are spread out as well and I'm sure if you polled the voters choice, the mid-west regions probably voted for Mich and the East and South voted FLA. The west coast probably split. Just my opinions but it probably holds true.

Hey, I watched it mainly because I love college ball and rivalries playing each other with so much at stake is awesome to see. But you read the papers, watch tv , sports radio etc... it isn't that big of a deal. This year it was more obviously because of their rankings, but normally it's barely covered. GWPFFL BrianW
I thought we were talking about this years game? Look I know most years, unless its the 2 best teams (which that game was) college football is mostly regionalized.

GWPFFL BrianW
I agree, a playoff is needed to determine a true national champion. I think leaving it up to computers is equally silly (if not more)

Cyclones
See when you say something like this you lose all credibility. He said "capable of beating OSU" not 8 teams better than OSU. Clearly, Fla, Ark, LSU, Aub, TN, and Ga could hang with and maybe beat OSU if they played their best and got a few breaks (Fla and LSU without the breaks if they played their best.) That's 6, not 8, but the statement isn't outrageous.
