Whelp! It appears the voters didn't want to rematch the nations 2 best teams, so we're left with this.

Should be a good game for a few quarters, but unless Florida magically forms an offense that can put up 45 points, i don't see this game being anything but a snoozer for the nation and an early dunkin' night for me.

Yup, but I saw Ohio State v Michgan already, so this is the matchup I was hoping for.

OSU won by 3 in columbus out come could be very different on neutral field but we'll never know

i think Mich is better than FLa plain and simple

Conclusion: BCS system is a joke

Hmm, not a Gator fan but do have an invite to untateve's for magic egg food and a nice lawn chair.

So for untateve and all of the Gator Nation (many of whom I work with):

Gators 31

Buckeyes 28

:D

Florida just gave up 28 pts to a very horrible and one demisional offense in Arkansas. I don't see Florida as a great D at all, they are above average, and above average will not even begin to slow down Smith and Pittman. Florida chances of beating OSU are about the same as mine every Wednesday when i'm off to the local carry out for my Powerball ticket. I think the game will be a big stinker, i'll watch every minute of it, but most will be upset with the match up by half-time.

Arkansas scored once on a shortened field after an interception and their defense scored a touchdown. They also scored once on a trick play. LSU did not score an offensive TD against them. Auburn did not score an offensive td against them. They held tennessee to minus yards rushing. Arkansas' 28 represents the most anyone has scored on Florida.

Tenn scored 20...they had negative yards rushing

Auburn scored 27--no offensive TDs

Georgia scored 14

LSU scored 10...no offensive TDs

Alabama scored 13

If we measure how strong a defense is by how many points it gives up...I'd say that Florida's def is pretty good.

I've watched every Florida game this season aside of 3 and once again i'll say, their D is above average, no where near great, the kind of defense my Buckeyes will pound to another NC title.

Not attempting to be antagonistic...could you please explain your position. I'm not understanding why you feel the Gator def is only "above average." Clearly, I disagree with you...but I'd like to try and see your point of view.

Again, TOS, I really am curious to hear your reasoning.

31-20 Bucks. Florida's razzle dazzle package will catch the young Bucks off-guard in the first half, but Heacock and Fickell will make the necessary adjustments, and contain Florida to just 7 points in the second half. Florida will be very effective against the Buckeyes' run game for the most part, but the underrated O-line will be magnificent in pass pro, giving Smith enough to make just enough plays through the air. The Bucks will seal it off with a clock-eating, 6-minute, smash-mouth drive; in which Beanie will feed his knees into the tired defenders' mouths and his helmet into their chests. :D

There D has yet to be tested by a balanced above average offense.

I fear I will come across like an a-hoole (which may be beyond my control). Even if I concede your point, you have stated that the Gator Def is only "above average" and not great. By positing they have "yet to be tested" does not support your argument. It only asserts that the Gator Def has not been tested. This assertion does not equal "above average." It also does not equal below average, great, or mediocre.

I promise is the last time I will ask...what, in your view, only makes this defense "above average?" My curiosity stems from the fact that I have not encountered anyone who has not offered high accolades for the Gator defense.
