The bcs has failed once again, The bcs was put in place to put the 2 best teams in the final game.

After Michigans loss, the country still thought MIchigan was the 2nd best team, After Urban Crier did

his little speech, suddenly florida was voted more deserving. Was there win that impressive over Arkansas

that everyone thought they were a better team? I think not, it was more the country did not want to see a

rematch. Well Mr Urban Crier, your out in your contract for Michigan, now means nothing, We want nothing to do with your sorry ass. As you can tell, Im pretty pissed, Now we get a shot at Usc, basically a home game for them. Our record in the Rose bowl has not been to good. Hopefully Our boys we be ready to show the country

we were the more deserviing team.

I feel for ya' brother.

After the Michigan game, you couldn't find a voter or commentator that didn't say Michigan was #2 and there should be a rematch. Then a week later, they all said.............WELL? Maybe if USC wins out, then they should go. Not at any point was Florida considered into the arguement UNTIL AFTER USC lost, then the possiblilty of a rematch was real and in everyone's face. For that reason and that reason ALONE, Florida jumped Michigan.

It's almost criminal that the voters can cast a vote the know fully well they don't believe in.

I thought Florida was more deserving than Michagan all along, based on their strength of schedule. I agree the BCS is screwed up, and we really need a playoff, but I think that they got the right teams in the NC game.

+1 Tough to take for Michigan fans, but at least they had a shot. Would have been a crime if the Gators were left out even if it proves to be a blowout. Fla/OS game will either validate or expose the bucks.

+2 That is exactly right.

computers just take the information given to them by :geeks:

I don't think the computers are any less subjective then the voters.

I'd hope that the computers are operating on a set formula that doesn't change based on someone's whim. If not, why bother having them?

To be honest, there really isnt a answer, Michigan, and Florida both have a claim. My biggest problem

was what the people thought after the Mich/Ohio St game. If you thought MIchigan was the second best team then, then why the sudden change of heart. This hole bit about winning your conference is bs.

Is it possible for 2 teams in 1 conference to be better then everyone else? The answer is yes.

BCS is a crock.

I'm not a fan or hater of OSU, Michigan, Florida or USC ... but I am pulling for Florida to kill OSU and Michigan to kill USC. That would be the bomb!

This would only help the BCS case. The best scenario for BCS haters is for OSU to kill Florida and Michigan to kill USC, then we'd know the BCS popularity contest was incorrect again.

EXACTLY!

They take subjective information given and go with it. Really how does a pc measure SOS? :D Someone is providing it the information to compute and it's just as foul as the voters themselves.

The local sports talk guy here used to be an AP voter and feels the polls are actually the worst part of the equation. Besides the well documented issues like the fact that nobody can possibly see all the games, there is obviously the possibility of agenda that you are claiming as we speak. I would imagine that if some geek was to get his formula accepted by the BCS, it would have to be pretty solid and consistant. The only change in rankings would likely come from the fact that each week, new data was gathered. I thought it odd that people were saying that Ark's loss to LSU last week would have an adverse effect on Florida. In reality, that loss simply meant that a win against Ark in the SEC final would not have as good and effect based on the drop Ark would take.

OSU/ FLA will expose the Gators and the so called strength of that conference. Michigan already proved they could play with OSu in their building. Fla hasnt proved they can even stay within 2 TDs of OSU, and its my opinion they can not.

Michigan had a chance to beat OSU. I'm still pissed about that. While I strongly feel they're the second best team in the country, blah blah blah, you all know the spiel.

However, I'm disappointed that Lloyd Carr called Tressell's abstinence from the vote, "slick." Tressell acted exactly as we've come to expect. I understand why he didn't vote, and it wouldn't have made a difference anyway. Did Carr expect him to lobby for Michigan while Carr himself hasn't said anything? Sad.

I already feel like Michigan is not focused. Great work, Carr. Just prepare 'em for the Rose Bowl and shut up.

Carr has some major national PR problems, imo. It's one thing to disregard the media outlets, but to do so at this point in the selection process shows how dumb this f'er is.

I disagree ...

OSU would have 1 loss

Florida would have 1 loss

Michigan would have 1 loss

Florida and Michigan would have a legitimate claim

LSU is less proven than Ohio State and Michigan. At least they went out of their conference and played a highly ranked team on the road. You can talk about how tough the SEC is all you want, but it means nothing until the SEC proves how good they really are, and thus far they haven't.
