AFC Race is Gonna Be Wild

Bengal Mania

4 seemingly clear Division Winners (out of the 4 Divisions, I give the Ravens the biggest challenge at holding on, but I think they will), but all may still be vying for a bye

5 teams currently tied in the race for 2 Wildcard Spots.

should be fun. Might have to reschedule Mass on Christmas Eve (or whatever it is you heathan secularists may have scheduled on Dec 24th) and New Year's Eve.

keep all your AFC studs active all weeks.

NFC, well....can't speak as much as to what is happening in the minor leagues, but it may have some interesting battles to see what 9-7 or 8-8 teams make the playoffs.

Chefs will finish 10-6 again and miss the playoffs 2 years in a row (I'm pretty sure that's never happened) :D

Yeah the H2H win for the Bengals vs. the Chiefs and a 4-1 division record looks really good for our tiebreakers.

The Bengals, Chiefs, Broncos, and Jags all have difficult games remaining including some against each other. I suspect we're all fighting for the 6th spot. The Jets are in very good position to take the #5. 11-5 wouldn't be a stretch for them at all IMO.

Man, I hope that's correct, but I've been a Jets fan for too long. Remaining games against Buffalo, Miami, Minnesota and Oakland, with Minnesota and Miami being road games. I could see them being underdogs in both road games potentially, and the bills also give us trouble historically.

When you're a lifelong Jets fan, you see nothing but potential pitfalls. It is our fate.

We'll hold on :D

I think you will, too. I was just saying that SD, Ind, and NE have even less to worry about.

Balt could definetly lose at KC and Pitt (not saying they will, just they could). If they did, Bengals would have to win out to take division, which is a little too tall of an order, IMO.

Balt's magic number is 3 (combination wins + Cin losses).

+1...that's why I forbade any Jets apparel for my newborn daughter. I want her to lead a better life than I and she can choose from 31 other teams!

I agree. SD, IND, and NE do have less to worry about. The Ravens do have some tough games ahead of them.

Regardless of how soft a schedule may look, it's very hard to win 6 games in a row, which is what the Jets would do if they won the last 4. Funny, the Jets could actually win the next 4 and still be out, although it's unlikely. Jax AND either Cincy OR Denver would have to win their next 4 games as well. How unlikely is that? Indy would have to go 2-2 at best for Jax and Cincy to win 4. Cincy and Denver still have a game, so only one has a mathematical chance to rip off 4 in a row.

I have to think all the current five 7 win teams will lose at least one more game. Should be a wild race.

I've been watching a lot of football while playing my new live real-time play predicting game on my cell phone. It's hard for me to see NE, BAL, and IND not making the playoffs. They've hit a couple of hurdles lately, but their consistency throughout the year has been amazing.

KC is on its way to a late season meltdown, and it is a long time coming, since their o-line can't take this much longer (see - making the Browns defense look good). That means Denver will sneak into the wild card, SD will slide into the AFC West title, and I will take the Jets as the other AFC wild card. These are the strongest, most consistent teams right now in the NFL.

But everything will pretty much be resolved by Week 15 - two more games will make or break these seasons. Week 17 will be what it always is.

That's just wrong dude. My kid's first words were J-E-T-S and I couldn'ta been prouder.

My kids know they can root for any team in any sport that they want, even the hated Yankees, but they will never ever root for the Dolphins while living under my roof.

KC is on its way to a late season meltdown, and it is a long time coming, since their o-line can't take this much longer (see - making the Browns defense look good). Do you have any clue what you are talking about? You mean the struggling offense that punted only 3 times in the game had over 120 yards rushing, 300 yards passing, over 420 yards of total offense? One turnover that was a stupid/bad throw by Green that should have led to even more points (ball was in the red zone). Dude.....get your facts straight :bash:

That means Denver will sneak into the wild cardcould happen, but I doubt it, SD will slide into the AFC West titleslide? slide into the spot? Surely they wouldn't have EARNED the spot....LAMO, and I will take the Jets as the other AFC wild card. These are the strongest, most consistent teams right now in the NFL. Denver and the Jets are the strongest, most consistent teams right now in the NFL?

But everything will pretty much be resolved by Week 15 - two more games will make or break these seasons. Yeah....okay :D Week 17 will be what it always is. You mean like when it came down to the 2nd half of football of the Lions and Steelers game with the Chiefs and Steelers fighting for the 6th seed? :D
