DaFreak
I have Taylor and picked up Fason. He looked good against my Bears and Minnesota plays the Lions, Jets and Packers the next three games. Does anyone know anything about his guy? I would like to see Taylor back but Fason should have plenty of work if he isnt good to go this week? MikesVikes
He's been on the inactive list most weeks of the season until now. He's a good runner and should fill in if needed if Taylor can't play. He's been used for short yardage carries by Tice before this year. There was a report of him juking all the defenders out on a play in TC. That was probably newsworthy because it doesn't seem to be what he's good at. Wolv
Another 2 back system in the works? Its evident Taylor can't carry the load for a full NFL season, and this being a copycat league we're seeing a number of successful 2 back teams.... Cameltosis
If Taylor cant go what percentage of the carries do you see him getting? How much is Moore going to factor? Edited December 7, 2006 by Cameltosis
Savage Beatings
I'm not sure if he has improved this season at all (presumably not, since he has been dealing with an injury for a while) but one of the big knocks against him has been his dismal blocking skills. Now that doesn't mean he won't be a good ball carrier, but it could very well limit the amount of time he spends on the field. Â Just something to keep in mind... although Childress seemed to keep him in there for quite a while this last week, so maybe its a non-issue. alexgaddis
Whatever the case, Chili isn't going to tip is cap before the game regarding playing time and what not...he's sneaky like that
Brentastic
2 questions: Â Does anyone think C. Taylor will be out the remainder of the season? Â Does anyone think that Moore will get more carries since he obviously has more explosiveness? Fiason and Moore are pretty much the same size, so I don't think Fiason has a size advantage. It seems obvious that Moore has more speed, experience and big-play potential than Fiason. Please discuss, if I'm going to make a waiver move on one of these guys it needs to be done today. Avernus
I think Moore is a better option for PPR leagues....but in standard performance scoring, they are about even...

I'm just wondering if Fiason getting all the carries last week after C.T. went down was really a diversion. I've seen coaches do that before. Starter goes down, coach plugs in a guy who doesn't play much, then the following week, more experienced player gets majority of carries. Ursa Majoris
Its evident Taylor can't carry the load for a full NFL season  That's an unfair knock on Taylor. This is his first year as full-time RB and the Vikings have been flogging him to death as their only real offensive option against stacked run defenses. He has 265 carries already this season, second only to Larry Johnson.

Not that I disagree, but why are you so sure? Looking at each of their attributes, fiason is only 1 inch taller and Moore is 3 lbs heavier and he has more explosion/experience. Obviously Moore was the 3rd down back w/Taylor as the starter but who's to say he will remain in that role now that Taylor is out.  Also, what is everyone's speculation on Taylor's return this season?
DaFreak
A friend emailed me this:  Fason To See Significant Time In Week 14 – We hear that the Vikings believe Ciatrick Fason is capable of a much bigger role in their offense, and plan to work him in significantly with Chester Taylor being banged up. Taylor has been on the injury report since week nine, and with the Vikings all but out of play-off contention, it would make sense to rest their 1,000-yard rusher and not risk any further injuries in essentially meaningless games. This opens the door for Fason, a second year RB from Florida, who scored four TDs as a rookie last year, to make his mark. You can expect to see more of Mewelde Moore as well, but we hear it’s Fason – who happened to be inactive for most of 2006 because of an injury he suffered in week one while playing special teams – that the Vikes truly believe could be a long-term prospect at RB and possibly a role similar to that of Marion Barber in Dallas. Â Also, what is everyone's speculation on Taylor's return this season? Â Moore has a history of not being able to handle a starters role without getting banged up for one thing. Tice recognized and I believe Childress has too. He's more of a prototypical Tatum Bell type as you noted about the explosion. He's a guy you want to have in on 3rd down and as a change of pace to work against a tired defense. Not someone you want in there trying to bang it up between the tackles. Â With that said, I didn't see last weeks game so I have no idea how good Fason looked. I know he has done little up until now to impress me that he would do much as a starter. I hope he has turned the corner because he's seemed like a little used bust up until this point.

gd74
The only thing that will get Taylor on the field is that he is from Detriot and wants to play....but I dont think the team will let him....if they do it will be very limited.
