How 'bout the 'Aints vs. B'ngles in the SB

Just dreamin', but 2 teams that have had lost decades would make for a great Superbowl......

If the Bengals had one game back of at least 3 (or even 4) that they should've won (and would have great chance to win division), I'd say I like their chances in the playoffs as good as anybody's. As it is, since apparently the league requires that you count all 16 games, they are not going to host a playoff game. (I do think they are playing the way you would want to continue a push for a playoff spot.). However, I don't see a duplication of a Pittsburgh's season last year (Pitt had the 4 required ingredients to win it all from the last seed: excellent play, excellent luck, injury management*, and excellent officiating*. I doubt anyone gets those 4 ingredients again.).

*some would debate these ingredients

I have only seen a few Saints games, but they are fun as he11 to watch. I'm rooting for them all the way in the NFC. As it is, I have no idea who is the most likely to come out the NFC. You could make a case for any team. It very well may be the "hottest" team, and not necessarily the best.

Who Dat vs. Who Dey!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Edit to add: BIG JOHN, little help here. Apparently the moderators here don't like anyone to refer to the old nickname of of the Bengals. So, Shazammles is the replacement for B.ungles, eh? That's pretty original.

The first part of the word is censored. And I can't override it so I modified the title with another apostrophe.

wheres' the SB this year, cause unless it's in Des Moines, if the Bengals get there with two weeks inbetween, they'll lose half their roster to the local prison....

:D I thought of asking if there were any nightclubs in Miami, but then I'd figured I'd wait until they made it....

History fact: 1988 season (the last Bengals Superbowl appearance), Stanley Wilson, Bengals FB was found the night before the Superbowl in a cocaine induced stupor, and was (obviously) disqualified from the game. He was a big part of their offense (esp in play-action stuff), there's no telling what it meant to their chances having him gone at last second. As it is, had game been 35 seconds shorter, Bengals woulda won anyway...

Line set at 4 or 4.5, right?

No way. O/U would be set at 1.

...and Chris Henry would take the under, wake up Superbowl morning, and upon hearing about no trouble from teammates, would head to the Sports Book to collect his winnings before heading to the stadium.....only to be busted for gambling on football! Damm!t. :D How ironic would that be?

I do think with all the arrests the Bengals do not have the luv they were getting last year. People would overwhelmingly be rooting for the Aints (as I will probably also against any team but the Bengals). So, it wouldn't be two franchises overcoming years of futility, but one franchise blessed by Bono and God (if, indeed, they are different beings) against a bunch of drunken thugs.

Bengals got the luv last year. This year, I think not. While I long to see the Bengals in the Super Bowl, if by some luck they made it this year, it would be two weeks of ESPN detailing the rap sheet of every Bengal on the team. I almost think that would be more destructive to the team long-term than if they didn't even make the playoffs this year.

C'mon - 1? Henry's good for 3 by himself (and it would be arrests, not players)
