mroban
Jackson will miss Seahawks game vs. 49ers Just as I head into a FF superbowl. I knew I should have picked up DJ Hackett (quick perusal to my other league to see if my opponent happens to have DJax). Effing guy does this to me every year (and I still get seduced into having him)...okay, so Santonio Holmes, Kevin Curtis or Ernest Wilford (yuck). Sayonara fantasy crown. jaxfactor
So DJ Hackett gets the nod? I heard that Burleson will actually be the starter opposite Branch. Seattle homers? Judging by the replies here Hackett will be the man. No big deal to me other than playing the guy tied for 1st(no playoffs ) and others are counting on me to play spoilder which I enjoy very much. But my most consistant FF player in that league was DJax and now it looks like I'm f*cked. K. Warner, SA, Hines Ward, Ch. Taylor, R. Brown, and now DJax. No wonder I sucked in this league. I'm the freekin' Mash unit! But seriously, do I pick up Hackett or Burleson?

yo mama
But seriously, do I pick up Hackett or Burleson? Yeah, I read where Burleson will likely be named the starter in lieu of D-Jack in Week 15. However, Burleson doesn't usually see a lot of pass targets and the Seahawks run a lot of 3+ WR sets where Hackett will certainly be involved. And I've yet to read anywhere that Engram is going to be ready. So I think you need to just pick the WR you like most; both should see the field enough to get a useful number of opportunities. My initial thinking on why I like Hackett more (at this point at least) is based on the following: Through Week 13, Hackett played in 2 fewer games (10) than Burleson (12). Yet, Hackett has been targeted more times (37) than Burleson (28). Hackett has a better reception ratio (70.27%) than Burleson (50%). Hackett also 2 TDs; Buleson, only 1. Their YPC are about the same, though Hackett's is slightly better (12.3 v. 12.1). Burleson is active on special teams, so that's cool if you get indivdual points in the return game. The only other thing going for Burleson is that he is a more frequent red zone target (5 times to Hackett's 2). (Sorry, didn't have time to roll Week 14's stats in there, but sufficie it to say both Hackett and Burleson scored. Hackett just go 3 more receptions and a butt-load more yardage). Against my frequently suspect Forty Niners, either one of them could do well. Obviously, use your own judgment. But unless some Seattle homers (or anyone, really) can share additional insight, or the coming week brings more news we can use, I'm leaning towards Hackett right now. But it's still real early in the week, so we'll just have to see. Edited December 12, 2006 by yo mama
CaP'N GRuNGe
I sure hope Branch's numbers go up. I've also got to pick between Stevens and Vernon Davis at TE.
Dr. Douche
Does this do anything to Stevens' value? I've got nothing at TE. I currently have McMichael, but have thought of picking up V. Davis.

xMRogers
what the f is going on (I don't even have DJax) - all of a sudden, it's like everyone decided week 14 was the time to get some injury that either keeps them out, or at least puts a ? next to their name.... Couldn't this have happened around week
bushwacked
It sounds as though Bobby Engram may turn into a game time decision...so unless you have Branch, it may be tough to figure out what Hawk WR to start this week. Avernus
this is great news as my opponent has Hasselbeck..
bushwacked
Engram says he will play IMO, I'd stay away from all Hawk WR's but Branch. Engram may contribute decent FF #'s but its hard to say, he will be a force down the stretch if DJax stays out. this is great news as my opponent has Hasselbeck.. I don't really see Hass's #'s dropping that much, because of Djax's injury. Hass has spent virtaully 2 full seasons now with top WR options (including DJax for a large chunck last year) out due to injury. His rustiness from the knee injury earlier this year is a bigger obstacle to me. Also, San Fran doesn't have the best pass defense.
Sully907
I have Djax and this is my conference championship and i was able to claim both burleson AND hacket off waivers...which one should i start? I get points per reception...
FishFreak
Is D-Jax done for the year or were the Seahawks just going to rest him up for a week or two and get ready for the playoffs? After losing to the 49ers tonight, they might need him to come back sooner if he can. Anyone know how serious his injury is?

CaP'N GRuNGe
Well, Branch got me 9.4 pts with Hackett on my bench. Better than nothing. And Vernon Davis got me a few pts but I should have started Stevens instead. Oh well.
protoslacker
Upgrade Jerramy Stevens too. Told Ya! Believe it or not I dropped Stevens anyway to get Vernon Davis. I still like his potential down the wire.
