Grits and Shins
A Vermeil that is hoarse and can barely talk is better than one that is crying
Tally
Vermeil sound like he's been smokin 3 packs of luck strikes a day for the last 50yrs, but he add's nice insight on the players. I remember listening to him do a few preseason games, he really knows his stuff.

Cowboyz1
The network should be ashamed to have on guy who sounds like a monotone little boy and the other sounds like he is going to die. Horrible booth, just horrible.
budlitebrad
They should just use the Vermeil sound bytes from the Coors commercials. "Nine of em. Both tackles, tight end, one guard, quarterback, running back, both receivers, and then a backup guy." Tally
I don't know, hoarse or not, I'm liking Vermeil in the booth. I'm with you. I'm totally enjoying the broadcast. These guys bring some personality to it. Its not just the same old, same old. Has a unique feel to it. Vermeil reminds me of listening to my grandfather speak and he's almost as wise. Respect your elders people. Edited December 17, 2006 by Tally
Tally
Vermeil just got botted from the booth Getting replaced by M. Faulk and D. Sanders. I like Faulk though as a studio guy, let's see what he can do in the booth... I bet Deion dosent let him get a word in edgewise. kpholmes
did gumbel just call vick "retarded"? Someting about his QB skill being retarted... yea. Gumbel has also messed up when reporting the score/possesion or any basic stat about the game. Not to mentiion the fact that he talks over Marshall and Prime Time until they stop talking. jaxfactor
Right after the opening kickoff(ATL kicking) a flag comes down and Gumballbrain says "it looks to be against the Falcons". A flag after a kick return. Hmmmm. who is it usually on dumbass! Of couse it was an illegal block in the back on the recieving team(Dallas). What an absolute as*f*ck this guy is! Big John
They claim the Saints would clinch the NFC West with a win tommorrow. Did they forget the 2002 realignment?

SteelBunz
I was really trying to give Gumbel the benefit of the doubt for the last few weeks. Grating voice aside....he's rusty doing live action. But where Tirico totally forgets he's the play-by-play guy....Gumbel is obsessed. So much so that he doesn't even hear what he's saying.....LOL. I quit listening after the first quarter.....but tonight, Michael Jenkins became Mike Jennings.....on Thursday, Frank Gore became Al Gore. And that first week, Tynes kicked off....the guy catching the ball was Tynes....Tynes made a nice tackle on the far side of the field before the runner, Tynes, was wrestled out of bounds on the near side by....you guessed it....Tynes. Sure were a LOT of guys named Tynes in on that play. He needs to do more homework.
bushwacked
Yea...I know most announcers suck and all, but for the most part, I'm so interested in the game, their words usually go into one ear and out another. I guess I like football so much, that I really never understand the obsession with announcers gaffes. I think we should have Wednesday night games and let George W. Bush do the play by play.
