Jones-Drew

The injury report says he left the game and did not return, but I would have sworn that he was on the field on the Jags last drive. I could have been mistaken, because I didn't get that game in HD so the numbers were a bit hard to read on the big screen, but I was watching for him as I had him going in three leagues.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - His cleats clacking across the concrete in the bowels of LP Field on Sunday, Maurice Drew stepped into a room and closed the door behind him.

The blue sign on it read: X-rays. But Drew denied getting one just minutes after the club's 24-17 loss to Tennessee. Drew instead said he suffered leg cramps like several of his offensive teammates, who spent a franchise-high 40 minutes on the field.

"I think they want to make sure," Jags coach Jack Del Rio said. "I'm not even sure what they are X-raying. I don't have any information on that right now."

Drew limped toward the sidelines late in Sunday's game, eventually collapsing before making it all the way off the field. Before the contest, Drew was listed on the club's injury report with a strained calf.

"Maurice is a warrior," Jags running back Fred Taylor said. "I looked up and saw that he had 98 yards on the ground. I wanted him to get his first back-to-back 100-yard games, but unfortunately, he was cramping up a bit."

Drew denied aggravating the injury after contributing 174 yards of total offense (98 rushing, 47 receiving and 29 in kickoff returns) and a touchdown.

"I've experienced a lot of things in my lifetimes of football, but not this," Drew said of Sunday's loss. "We have a lot of things to improve on this week."

The only thing "official" that has been stated was that he had cramps but it was at least potentially more since they x-rayed him. I suspect we won't know until WED when coaches have their press conference.

..........but I wouldn't mind of the Jags decided to hold him out a game to let him rest.

:D

With a sum between $2,900 and $200,000 in the mix, we are of the mind that it was just cramps and he will be fit and ready to take it to the house several times next week.

We do NOT need any bad news about Jones-Drew at this point in time.... nor do we need him "resting".
