Playoff tie - bench scoring

Just curious.

Total points is predominate I think, but that doesn't make it particularly fair under many cases:

Examples:

1. Some guys love to stash several QBs, and they generally dominate bench points

2. Keeper/dynasty leagues - may have several injured players on the bench, but wanna keep em for next year

3. etc etc

Any other way to do it? Such as match up all like positions that have highest points, and scrap the rest?

And no, I didn't have a playoff tie that I lost :D

We use bench scoring in my local and have for years. We will have an owner designate one player of his choice to be a tie breaker for each week.

The one thing I would recommend however, is to go to decimal scoring. It gives a more realistic reflection of how a team has performed i.e. instead of given a guy say 2 points for 24 yards receiving, he would get 2.4 points. Like I said it's a better format to go with IMO and since we've switched to it, we haven't had a tie.
