MJD = ROY?

70 rec. 1038 yds. 8 TDs in 13 games

ROY= Marques Colston

Rookie MVP= VY (too bad there is no such award)

Obviously, the Titans suck w/out VY. The Saints are a much better team and Colston's absence didn't kill them. That doesn't mean that Colston isn't the best Rookie this year...because he has been. Of course the media will do it's part to hype VY to win....why after all, he's the next Mike Vick, and not a 7th round TE out of Hofstra right? :D:D

While Vince deserves a lot of credit, the real credit over there goes to Jeff Fisher.

The timing of Vince getting in there coincided with the Titans finding a powerful bullish runner (Henry) and the defense began to step up as well.

Young has been remarkable this year, because he's found a way to win games even when he's struggled for much of the game, that's the sign of a winner.

whats a t-sip??

It refers to the University of Texas Longhorns, AKA current NCAA Champions. It is an acronym for "Texas - Superior in Perpetuity". Not sure why they think it is slang or derogatory.

I gotta go with Vince Young, and althought I am very much with you on Hester, he has to finish second.

The difference here is that too many of his returns came in games that were either already decided or games the Bears were going to win anyways.

Vince Young gave a whole team a swagger. Whoever was giving the credit to Travis Henry and the defense obviously didn't watch these players when Kerry Collins was at the helm. The Tennessee Titans are beginning to surpass the Saints as the most unbelievable story of this season, and it all happened when Vince Young took over. No stats can match that. Rookies every season do what MJD & Colston are doing. Nobody does this.

Hester is flat sick, but hasn't made more than 15 impact plays all season.

There's definitely some truth to this. Vince Young is quietly beginning to do what he did to college teams, such as USC in the Rose Bowl, but to NFL teams on a weekly basis. This guy is a rookie sensation, and has actually turned a sad Titans team into a contender. And this is only his rookie year.

Jones-Drew and Colston should win the OROY with a tie. However, being a realist, and knowing the way things really work.... Young will probably win it. He has major media love... the other two don't.

One can make a case for all three though... that's for sure.

I'll disagree with the notion that his returns can be discounted because the games were somehow already out of hand. Not only is that not true, but if it were easy to take returns to the house, then the career record would be a little higher than 14. Here's a quick reminder.

Pulled from recaps:

Wk 1 - The Bears scored their second touchdown on an 84-yard punt return by Devin Hester, giving the Bears a 26-0 lead early in the fourth quarter.

Wk 6 - Down 20-0 at halftime, Chicago returned two fumbles for touchdowns in the second half. Then Hester returned a punt 83 yards for a score with 2:58 remaining to take the lead.

Wk 10 - Hester fooled the Giants by standing in the back of the end zone for several seconds, then ran down the right sideline on his knockout-blow return as the Bears rallied for a 38-20 victory over the injury-ravaged Giants in their NFC showdown. (score was 24-20 when he made that return)

Wk 13 - Hester tied an NFL record with his fourth touchdown return in the 1st quarter (their first score of a 23-13 win)

Wk 14 - he set an NFL record with his fifth and sixth returns for touchdowns this season, a 94-yard kickoff runback in the second quarter and a 96-yarder in the final period.

"That played a major role in us losing the game," Rams cornerback Ron Bartell said. "We lost by 15. You take away those two returns, we've got a pretty good game."

So I'd say only the Week 1 TD was in a "meaningless" scenario, and only if you discount the fact that it was the second TD of the day, and after that the rout was on.

I'll also disagree about rookies every season doing what MJD and Colston are doing. You'd have to go back to Edge's (2100/17 in 1999) or Fred Taylor's rookie year (1650/17 in 1998) to get something that dwarfs what MJD has done, and Chris Chambers season is the only applicable comparison, and even then he was a 3rd rounder, not 7th, and you cannot compare Colston to Randy Moss' acchievements when Moss came out highly touted, and Colston came out of nowhere. What they're doing is equally special, and are in rare air for players who weren't top ten picks.

Between them, Hester, VY it's as deep a class as any. VY is flat out crazy, and in Tennessee he's going to flourish.

As much as I think he deserves it, I doubt he gets it. The media has been up Bush and VY's asses all year.

Case in point, a couple weeks ago. VY doesn't throw one TD pass against the Texans but runs for the game-winning TD in OT. MJD has 300+ all purpose yards and 2 or 3(can't recall) TDs including a kick return for a TD. Yet, VY wins rookie of the week. That week told me something. MJD gets virtually no exposure playing in Jax while VY is the reigning Heisman and NC winner. I'm by no means taking anything away from VY. I think he's as deserving as the rest. Personally I'd go with MJD but that won't happen.

Voting will end up this way IMO

1) VY

2) Bush

3) MJD

4) Hester

Devin Hester. M F'er has 6 career returns, and the record is 14. VY has future MVP's coming his way. Let Hester have what he's earned.

MJD is a pretty solid second.

A kick returner the ROY? Regardless of the terrific year he's had returning kicks, that's all he's done. He's not a very good coverage guy and I don't think he'll get voted in as a specialist.MJD has been consistent all year and has put up terrific numbers. VY is plain and simple, a winner. What a terrific second half of a season he has had!

1. MJD

2. VY

3. Colston

4. Hester

Defensive ROY = Demeco Ryans
