Timmypg
I'm looking at the tie-breaker rules and I can't see how the Giants aren't in a win & in situation. How can the Packers get in? Please don't turn this into a who cares they all suck thread. I know they all suck but someone has to get in.

If the teams that the Pack have already beaten win and the teams the Giants have beaten lose, the Pack's SOV rating would be higher.

Savage Beatings
So the following teams are all sitting at 7-8 with a shot at the final NFC Wildcard spot: Giants Packers Panthers Falcons Rams None of those teams play each other in the final week. Its entirely possible that all five teams could lose this coming week, ending up with 7-9 records. Has there ever been a team with a losing record in the NFL Playoffs? It probably won't happen, but I almost want to see it just out of morbid curiosity.

I can't recall offhand, but I'm pretty sure some teams have got in with a losing record just by winning their division. Probably not too many. One of those HAS to win, surely?
Doc Holliday
My Lions went 4-5 in the strike shortened season of 1982 and got in. but I believe they added a couple more playoff teams (8 instead of 6) to each conference that year. Doc Holliday
That is correct. When your team has been as bad as my Lions have been during my time you don't foget to many playoff games.
Timmypg
I believe ESPN said 8-8 was the worst full season record to ever get in. I believe 8-8 will get in again. Car plays a NO team that will be resting guys. Stl plays a bad Minn team. GB plays a Chi team resting guys. Giants play a beatable Wash team. Atl will lose to Philly. One of those first 4 teams have to win.
