Rockerbraves
Ok, we got SEC vs. Big 12, we got two big name programs Auburn and Nebraska, we got two top 25 teams, we got one of the most traditionally rich New Year Days bowl games in the Cotton Bowl, then why is it that neither Nebraska nor Auburn have sold out its allotment of 12,500 tickets?? Tickets with a face value of $90 are reportedly selling for as little as $12. Is it the way that both these teams finished their seasons somewhat disappointingly or is it more that many fans really don’t want to wake up early on New Year's Day to attend a game with a 10:30am kickoff that has little national attention (non BCS) in a city known to have subfreezing temperatures during this time of the season? IMO the people in charge of the Cotton Bowl should certainly be working with Jerry Jones to move this once prestigious event to the new Dallas Cowboys stadium expected to be ready for the 2009 season. http://stadium.dallascowboys.com/
theeohiostate
Nebraska SUCKS, that's why. Auburn should cake walk through this game.
theeohiostate
Just caught the line on this game...................Nebraska only a 1.5 pt underdog???? What with that line, seems like an easy win to me. Nebraska beat absolutely no one this season, lost to Ok, Ok St and Texas. Auburn ranked #10, not getting the respect they deserve in this match up. Akfatha
you guys are funny. While I have projected an Auburn win, as I don't think nebraska is equal to the top tier football teams yet, still a ways to go, tOSU hasn't exactly made the greatest predictions thus far concerning big 12 teams. The reason Cotton Bowl hasn't sold it's allotment of tickets is because 'Nebraska SUCKS'? How rational.
theeohiostate
How rational. True though? Like Penn St. , Nebraska needs some calls, a few lucky bounces and play out of their shoes to beat the better teams today.
theeohiostate
Callahan calls for a fake punt, but the up back could not make an easy toss to the WR on the reverse and Auburn recovers the ball in great position for their third offensive drive of the half. Why not just hand them the ball on your own 2.....................OH! They did! Hey Auburn, we thought it be nice since your the heavy favorite if we just gave you 7 points. Nice call on Callahan You DONT go for a fake punt inside your own 20 you f'ing MORAN! Edited January 1, 2007 by theeohiostate
Akfatha
I'd say by Nebraska's tradition, great fans, and the fact that Nebraska is known as a great traveling team, I really don't see how your 'Nebraska SUCKS' IS infact rational when talking about Cotton Bowl not selling out. But whatever, some people see real reasons and some people see through sunglasses and drink too much koolaid.

Your completely correct. Great call. I should never have questioned a genius coach like Callahan, going for a fake punt inside their own 20 I don't know the stats, but if what you say is true and Callahan is calling fake punts at will inside his own 20, he's more moron then genius. If you support that type of play calling, you need to get off the koolaid, bre'. Edited January 1, 2007 by theeohiostate

To any Auburn fans, props and good luck. Weeks leading up to the game I've earned nothing but respect for your coaches, players, and fans. and as for tOSU, luckily I know you're one of few bad apples for a probably pretty nice Buckeye fanbase, as I know some Bucks fans and they're very respectful and nice. You should really look into taking a lesson from some of your fellow Buckeye fans. But good luck to you, Tressel, & the team on Jan 8 as well. sacosud
I have to believe that Nebraska is slowly on it's way back. They get that QB transfer next season from ASU and Lucky is going to be a good one. The defense needs to get it's swagger back and they gave the Big 12 a run for it's money. I would say they are a couple of playmakers from getting back to the national picture. Urban ran a fake punt inside his own 20 in SEC championship and got nothing but praise. I would most likely not run that this early, but there is no tomorrow and really I think Nebraska needs this win alot more than Auburn. I guess had he got that he would look like a clever coach and be cause he did not looks bad. Auburn getting the points after makes it sting a little more. theeohiostate
Callahan doing everything in his power to lose this game for his kids. The fake punt inside their own 20, giving Auburn 7 points Now, 3 horrible calls at 1st and 10 on the Auburn 30 THEN!!! If that's not enough, instead of going for a game tieing FG, he goes for it on 4th down. Auburn fans should be giving thanks this New Years Day for playing a Callahan coached team. Any other coach on that sidelines and AUBURN LOSES! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! No Doubt. Edited January 1, 2007 by theeohiostate

Any other coach on that sidelines and AUBURN LOSES! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! No Doubt. Think the Nebraska FG kicker longest FG of the season was 40 yards and this would have been a 49 yarder. If it were my call I would have at least attempted it. Our HS team lost in this year's State HS semi-finals when our coach elected to go for it on 4th and 10 vs. attempting a 38 yarder with less than 30 seconds on the clock. Granted our kicker had never made one that far, but heck at least give it a crack.
