Where does he go? AZ?

Their 'O' looked pretty good, and their 'D' needs work. He's a gem and I think AZ would be a good fit, though I'd hate to lose him, it's inevitable!

All good things come to an end. He will be getting more looks - this might be the year.

I don't think the Bears defense will suffer all that much. They have built a solid foundation with good players.

Sherman, Rivera, Bates, Chow, Jim Caldwell, Russ Grimm, and Whisenhut are apparently on the list for the Cards. I'd like to see them go with Bates or Rivera, since defense is the obvious weak point.

Rivera is primo! He proved himself w/ Da Bears and Philly. He's earned it! And AZ is a perfect match for him!

I met him twice, very quiet kinda guy. But a bull on what a 'D' needs! I wish him the best, but if the NFL teams ignore him again, it's a shame and a loss! :D

I think Rivera will get several offers.... and if I were him, AZ would be the last option. Bidwell is still Bidwell. I was hoping Rivera would go to the Jets last year, but I'm not complaining now! (Those Tice rumors were making my feet swell). Miami, I wonder?

Add Chargers offensive coordinator Cam Cameron to the mix. Today's SD paper said he is scheduled to interview for the Cards job on Fri.. Cameron has a great offensive mind and would have fun with the weapons in AZ. As previous posters cite, though, AZ could use more help on defense, so I hope they go w. a defensive minded coach and Cameron stays in SD.

In picking a new head coach, I don't think it's a good idea to pick one or the other, ie a "defensive coach" or an "offensive coach". AZ needs the best man for the total job of managing that team, and one who can choose quality assistants.

I agree ... and, I also believe it's better to play to your strengths than to go away from them ...

So, get a great defensive coordinator and focus on the defense in the draft and w/ FAs...

  • 3 weeks later...

Who is left now...Pittsburgh and Oakland?

I hope he gets a head coaching job somewhere?

He's still one of only about three top candidates left for the Pittsburgh position. And let's hope he gets it because Tomlin is one of the other candidates.

If Tomlin abandons ship, maybe Dungy could be let go in Indy and come back as the Vikings DC? Then all we need is Brian Billick as the OC and Denny as the HC.

Memories....of the way we were.... :D

Based on the things I've read, I'm fine with whoever the Steelers select: Tomlin, Rivera, or Grimm.
