Agent: Ricky Williams intends to return to Dolphins

Ricky Williams is taking and passing all his tests in the NFL's drug testing program and intends to apply for re-admission to the league in April, his agent, Leigh Steinberg, said Thursday.

Steinberg also said Williams will play for whichever coach the Dolphins pick as a successor to Nick Saban.

''Ricky didn't have input when the team was hiring Nick Saban and he's confident the organization will make a good choice and he'll respect that choice,'' Steinberg said. ``And Ricky will play for that coach.''

Williams, who is serving a one-year suspension for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy, had a good relationship with Saban, who left Wednesday to become the coach at Alabama.

''They bonded, I mean really bonded,'' Steinberg said. ``In fact, it was two years ago at this time that Nick first called Ricky to begin rehabilitating the relationship, and Ricky really likes Nick a lot.

``Nonetheless, Ricky's contract is with the Miami Dolphins and he fully intends to apply for reinstatement in April and return to play for the Dolphins.''

Williams is living in northern California, according to Steinberg, and practicing yoga. The forearm Williams fractured while playing in the CFL is healed and will be ''just a memory'' by the time training camp begins in July, Steinberg said.

And as for the multiple drug tests Williams submits to even while he's on suspension?

''He's taking them presently and passing all the tests,'' Steinberg said.

Even though he's at Alabama, Saban still is a Williams fan and believes Williams' return can help Miami in 2007.

''God knows about No. 34, but if he comes back, you win three or four more games if the guy is playing, I'm telling you,'' Saban said. ``He's got a presence.''
