How does someone from Texas cheer from Oklahoma? I mean seriously, aren't there enough teams in Texas to pull for without having to support a team outside of the United States? I mean true, they are good, but couldn't you get basically the same trailer trash effect by rooting for ITT Tech of Lubbock? I do realize that with so many Texans on the squad they do resemble the French Foreign Legion. There are many sooner fans here I have always wanted to axk.

Thanks

Why do Texans go to school in Oklahoma. Answer that, and you will have your answer.

Following that logic, Texans go to school everywhere. If you are simply looking for a winning team to flock to why not Notre Dame, USC, or LSU?

Started as a lil chap, around 9 or 10, idolizing Brian Bosworth. Had Enjoyed watching him destroy oposing QBs, and I played the same position, so I tried to duplicate everything he did on the field.

My dad was a die hard Texas fan, so rooting against the team he cheered for, especially when Barry was puttin up half a hundred on Texas, were great days for me and my brother. My old man would get so mad, and chase us out of the house around the 3rd quarter.

Then Gary Gibbs took over, and there were some unspeakable days to follow. The 4 yrs I was in HS, were the Peter Gardere Years, so that was tough, as I took a beating from Texas fans. I played ball with Joe Bowden, when I was a sophmore, and he was a Senior, so I followed his career there. Then when it came time to pick a school, I picked OU, and my Dad got the last laugh. He said it wasnt academically acceptable for me or my brother to go there. So I went to North Texas, and went to Norman on weekends to watch Sooner games, and hang out with buddies who went to Norman for school.

I guess there was never anyone I could relate to like the Boz or Joe Bowden at Texas at the time, and as a chap, I hated the color Burnt Orange, still do actually. Today, my oldest daughter cheers for Texas for the same reason I cheered for OU as a kid, to get a rise out of her old man. I guess payback is a b*tch. The last 2 yrs anyway.

That was the line my old man used, the fact is he wasnt paying out of state tuition. Oklahoma is a great academic school, and Ill send my kids there one day.

I still don't get it. Living in Texas and going to school in Oklahoma is much like sitting in a 5 star restaurant and longing for a turd sandwich.
